Casino 101 is a long established poker and blackjack facility just off major highway 101 in Petaluma. Half the facility is taken up by the City Limits restaurant, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has a fairly limited menu with the usual lunch and dinner selections. For lunch, they have a good selection of large burgers, but their best lunch items are the French Dip and the Reuben sandwiches. Both are high quality. For dinner, they offer a variety of good quality steaks, however their specialty and best selection is the prime rib dinner. The quality of the food and service would normally rate a "very good" rating for the restaurant, however the the somewhat faded atmosphere and the closeness of the casino facility and its noise directly across a shared open foyer somewhat detracts from the experience. People who are interested in good food at reasonable prices in a very convenient location will be attracted to this facility - and that is their primary market. If you are interested in the total food/service/atmosphere experience (such as a date), this is probably not high on the list.

On two occasions recently we tried Traxx Bar and Grill - walking away knowing that this will be a place we will now frequent. Upon arriving, we saw an old-fashioned mirrored wooden bar, and with knowing the bartender (Candace), we really looked forward to a nice dining experience. You can decide to eat in the dining room or bar. We often opt to eat in the bar of a given restaurant because if we know the bartender, we like the banter and their memory of our previous bar and food choices. The drinks (martini and manhattan) were just what we expected and both pleasing to the eye and palate. The food was flavorful, in good portions, and came out in a timely manner. Over the two visits we enjoyed el pastor tacos; chili; a very well prepared chicken alfredo; and the house salad which was made of many fresh ingredients. All in all, a great experience and perhaps in the future we will arrive via Smart Train - across the street!

WE had heard of mixed reviews of this restaurant, but that things have changed. We loved the outside eating and drinking...(was a bit cold, but the heaters were great), and enjoyed the gardens..and the play area for the kids is a plus. We only had the french fries, but they were great with the special sauce. Loved the wooden tables, with the cool slots for silverware, a bit funky, but with flair!! The staff was very attentive and really enjoyed our time there.

We arrived to a strong odor of ripe steer manure pervading the air outdoors in Petaluma. Don't ask me why or how, but it was pretty noxious. Luckily, once we were inside Ray's, it was like being in a different world - a friendly, fun, relaxed world with good food and decent people. While my Reuben sandwich didn't hold a candle to the one I had at the Stage Deli in Manhattan, it was very good (just lacking about three pounds of corned beef, which meant I could actually fit it in my mouth). The potato salad was really good, and the apple pie, which the steady stream of customers seemed to ignore, was excellent (their loss). The pecan salad was quite delightful, as well. This is a place really filled with locals, with the deli on one side, the tavern on the other, and the staff perpetually busy both with walk-ins, and to go orders. Ray's popularity is justified, and I look forward to dropping by again when I'm cruising through Petaluma.

It was extremely hot and we were very happy when we found this bar and it was perfect. Great selection of beer and they let you have two samples for free. Waiter was extremely nice and loved the atmosphere. Food portions are large. The hamburger was delicious. It was one of our favorite places in Petaluma

Petaluma, Population 59,440...where is one to find GOOD quality food late night? Luckily Speakeasy is staffed by a bunch of nice insomniac hipsters whom serve up quality meals late into the night until 2am, 7 days a week. Amazing! There's also a nice enough selection of draft beers, wine, and craft cocktails. $6 Papas Bravas...I spent 10 days in Spain, and this was better than any Spanish tapas spot I visited. The potatoes were nice and crispy, and the sauces was creamy and delicious...just a little too spicy. $10 Polenta...this classic creamy corn Italian dish with a twist: blue cheese, bacon and egg transforms this into tasty all day breakfast-like meal. Tacos...we got 2 salmon and 2 steak tacos. As San Diegans, we safely say these are creative but good at the same time. Unfortunately they were just luke warm when they came out to us. 4 tacos for $16, or 2 for $9. $11 Veggie Burger...as good as a veggie burger can be. My one warning is that Speakeasy is a TINY place with 5 inside tables and 5 bar seats. Outdoor seating is available, but winters in Petaluma can be freezing, at least for us San Diegans.

I love this old watering hole. A very fun place with a great menu, great beer menu, nostalgic vibe that caters to everyone. Fantastic service. I had a happy hour beer and calamari with a fried chicken salad with BBQ ranch dressing

Another happening place in downtown Petaluma, all within a two block radius. There is seating outside alongside the river, but it was cool the night we visited, so opted to sit at the bar. Like the menu and choices of beer. Friendly staff, with many locals hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere. This is more a restaurant than a beer pub, but a good choice for either lunch or dinner.

Urban pub cuisine â quality burgers, salads, fish & chips, steak, and seafood; with an emphasis on local and fresh.
Great little gastropub set in a strip mall but don't let that stop you from eating here. They have burgers but also a good variety of other yummy things to eat - salads, tacos, stews, etc. Original local beers on tap. Friendly and knowledgeable service with reasonable prices.

The brewery serves sandwiches in its Tap Room and Beer Sanctuary. It's open for lunch on weekends.
What a super busy place! We ended up in the packing lot - way in the back, and that was on a Wednesday morning. Once parked and inside, we enjoyed our flight. Price for a âcustomâ flight of 4 beers was $9.75.Womenâs restroom was slightly reminiscent of a roadway bathroom and really needed service.
