We have been for lunch at La Grotta di Barbanera on several occasions during our two month stay near Ovada.The family run business (and what a lovely family they are) offer excellent food at very very reasonable prices.Their 10 euro lunch special is very hard to beat for value...and more importantly for taste. For this you get 2 courses with choices + a choice of wine or watet.Their pastas are always fresh and beautifully cooked al dente.The Secondi also will not disappoint.Furthemore they have a wide range of beers and make a wonderful coffee.We cannot speak highly enough of this restaraunt.Its well worth finding!Rob and YvettePerth, Western Australia.

Locale belli ed accogliente, in estate con tavolini sulla piazzetta del municipio di OvadaPersonale gentilissimo e disponibile. Noi ci andiamo per l'aperitivo e troviamo sempre un bel buffet, dove ci serviamo, oppure ci propongono un piatto composto da loro. Assortimento semplice ma di ottima qualità .Da procare

Friday night and most other places wouldn't take a last minute reservation for 7 people so we went here. At first looking at the menu I was trepidacious but while the kids all ordered the various panini and the other adults ordered from the vast beer menu (no wine list) I ordered the ravioli con ragu and asked if they had wine. Yup. They do and the Barbera was delicious. Ravioli was also. And the bill was really small.
