We had read up about De Proefzaak and we couldn't wait to visit here and we were not disappointed.Housed in a unique building,it looks like an old air raid shelter with a great outside seating area, the interior is cool with great decor and furnishings including shiny brewing vats prominently on display ,it's just a cool place to enjoy a beer or two .My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Thursday afternoon and this place was packed,we got a couple of their IPA style beers and these were served in perfect condition,we just chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular brewpub. As much as I enjoy the local beers such as Heineken,Amstel,Gulpener,Bavaria and the like it's just so nice enjoying a quality crafted beer and the beers brewed here are quality. We ended up staying here for a couple of beers each before we moved on and for a first time visit we were very impressed indeed with De Proefzaak. De Proefzaak is really easy to locate by jumping the metro down to stop Bulliwijk ( 50 or 54 ) and walk down Karpeldeep and cut onto Hullenbergweg were you will find this brewpub .Opening hours are;Monday, closed.Tuesday & Wednesday,11.30am till 10pm.Friday to Saturday,11.30am till Midnight. Sunday, closed.A great brewpub and one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area. Dear Neil,We were so happy and excited to read your amazing review. Thank you for writing this story about us and about your experience at De Proefzaak. The most important thing is that you and your twin brother enjoyed your time with us and our beers. We hope to see you back here in the near future. Cheers and kind regards,The entire team of the brewery and the tasting room!

We had a lovely and tasty lunch by complete surprise. Great price we paid 16.50 and had a sandwich each (a lot of ingredients which were home made) and fries to share. The staff was very nice too!

The Westerpark is a bustling area full of cafés and restaurants. We visited during the Holland Festival production 'Aus Licht' and wanted to eat something small in the one-hour intermissions. Troost is definitely one of the better places we found: offers wonderful beers, friendly service and tasty hamburgers (with or without meat). The classic burger was great.
