This is the second Gecko's location I've visited. I'm impressed with this well-managed chain. Their service is exemplary. We ordered their wings since we loved them so much when we visited their Twelve Oaks location. While these were still better-than-average wings, I have to say that I enjoyed them more at the other location. These were somewhat smaller and needed more sauce. Don't get more wrong... they're good, but just came up a bit short.

You walk into the restaurant and some greets you. There was no one there so the female bartender came over and said "what do you want" - ummmmm.... a table please. Never smiled.....never greeted us with a welcome.....just made us feel incredibly unwelcome and at a time when everything at this mall is closed, closing or leaving......I'd think they'd want to retain customers. We turned and walked out. Sorry owners.

Not much more to say.The chowder is seriously really good! It's a great little place for lunch, happy hour or casual dinner. Service is good. They have inside and outside seating. And if you want a bigger menu just walk next-door to Captain Curt's Crab & Oyster Bar.

I was on Siesta Key in another seafood restaurant and I asked the waiter if the mussels were good. He said, "I don't eat mussels here." I asked him where he does eat mussels. He said, "MONK'S."Monk's is not very pretty. Basically it is a biker bar after 10 PM. But they have have the best steamed and raw shell fish in Sarasota. If you have kids, the bar lets you go to Solorzanos pizza place next store and bring back a pizza for the kids. We don't go in but sit on the patio while it is still light outside. Beer, oysters, pizza, sunset. What is not to like.

If you always wanted to go to a biker bar but were afraid... go to this one. You will quickly find out... WE ARE ALL HERE TO HAVE FUN.Doug (the owner) says, "WE HAVE A NO FIGHT POLICY", so there has never been a fight. We all want to be invited back & we all are welcome any time. Anyone who says, "rough crowd and a little scary", never sat at the bar and said hello! I was a little apprehensive, the first time I walked in, but these folks are friendly. I look like a banker and I'm safe and accepted here.The music: This place is a national treasure. Why, you ask... DICKEY BETTS walks in with his guitar and jams with several of the bands that play here. For those who don't know... Mr. Betts is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and composer best known as a founding member of The Allman Brothers Band. He was inducted with the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and also won a best rock performance Grammy Award for his instrumental "Jessica" in 1996. He is on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list. His guitar partnership with Duane Allman, introducing melodic twin guitar harmony and counterpoint which "rewrote the rules for how two rock guitarists can work together, completely scrapping the traditional rhythm/lead roles to stand toe to toe". So, like I said, He and this place are national treasures. I have never seen a bad band here. Reasonable drink prices & the pizza is good

Palermo serves up excellent food reminiscent of the NE US. I'm from Philly originally, and my cheese steak ranked up there with some of the best I've had. And the bread (he makes it there fresh every day) was fabulous!

This restaurant is I'm my neighborhood and I was looking forward to a great place to visit often. The name is inviting, but the physical restaurant isn't. It was disappointing---the atmosphere was dark and the walls and furniture unattractive. Most of all, the food was below average. I had the Avocado and Chicken salad which had three small slices of avocado. The chicken tasted good, but wasn't completely cooked and the plate was filled mostly with lettuce. I have expected more avocado, since that was the name of the dish.

Thank you for such a wonderful happy hour for the Gulf Coast Italian Culture Society. I had harp beer and corned beef and cabbage. I also shared boxties. The service was good and Karen was very friendly.

This restaurant is very popular. Specials are great. Service good but restaurant is very crowded as tables VERY close and hard to get in chairs even for skinny people! Tables inside and out. It is as if so popular they shoved to many in small area. Never the less food is very good and you can get burgers cooked perfectly. We had a burger with lettuce, tomato, onions mustard and slaw. Also the juicy Lucy with lettuce, mayo and fries. Yuengling and diet coke. Good slaw also. A favorite to a lot of local bar scene folk. $27.02
