An independent, family run restaurant and bar specialising in fresh, delicious grilled meals. Homemade burgers, chicken and steak served along with vegetarian and vegan options. Children's menu. Sunday Roasts. Gluten free and Dairy free options available
Had a table for 10 for a birthday party. Burgers were great. Excellent flavour nicely cooked and lovely bun. Would have liked an option for fries (and some spicy mayo) as well as chips but overall great value and service too. Would highly recommend.

Well, we chose this restaurant as they were happy to have dogs inside - it did look like much from the outside, but once inside you will receive a very warm welcome. The service by our waitress June was prompt with the food being excellent - all seemed to be cooked fresh with large portions.Prices were the usual for south coast pub/ restaurants.I can highly recommend this restaurant!!
Nice, comfortable old fasioned country Pub, friendly staff and customers. Well kept Harveys Best and Long Man Long Blonde always available, along with 4 Lagers, Guinness, 4 draught Ciders, bottled Beer and Cider, large range of Spirits and Soft Drinks. Lu
Like the Flying Fish in Denton, this is another excellent pub. Visited in October 2015 with my brother Mike for a couple of pints after our walk in the Denton & Bishopstone area of East Sussex. Very pleasant.I had visited with my brother a couple of years earlier on an evening when the pub has live music. It was excellent! They also have a 'room at the back' for smokers and I remember having conversations with some hairy bikers.

Having reserved a table for 3 in the evening, we found we were in the nursery area, with babies and young children loudly enjoying themselves right next to us. This was 7pm. We ordered drinks at the bar and asked where our table was, expecting someone to come over. No one did, so eventually we asked and was told we have to help ourselves to a menu and order at the busy bar. No one told us this.Booked for their GF options, the fish pie was a glutenous dry specimen with one overcooked prawn and probably cod? Side salad probably for show rather than eating. The fish and chips had overcooked batter, chips passable. Scampi was a large portion but again, overcooked. All was an unpleasant chore to get through, however, we were hungry so did. No one asked us how our meal was. Too crowded, I couldn't be heard to tell them anyway.

The Abergavenny in Rodmell is a privately owned oak beamed English Free house, with the warm and friendly atmosphere of a traditional village pub. Our mouth watering menu is crafted daily and our food is locally sourced and freshly prepared. We are nestled
Once again no disappointments at this friendly country pub. Well kept Harvey's bitter and a great pint of extra cold Guinness. Very friendly welcome and efficient service. We had the Prawn Cocktail and the Chicken Sate as starters Fish and Chips and a Burger for mains. Fish very well cooked with crispy batter and hot peas. The Burger was very tasty but a little too well done but no real problem. Fantastic chips crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. All in all a good old fashioned pub. Will be back.

I donât where to start but this is probably the worst place we have visited. The staff were miserable, the management was inadequate (added with the fact that thereâs a change of management happening), cleanliness was lacklustre and the food throughly disappointing. I expected low standards, but this was lower than the low benchmark. Avoid visiting unless you are desperate to be treated like youâre worthless.

Had an early dinner here, so we had the Sipper menu. Initially I thought it was a bit limited, but everything we ordered was super tasty! The burger seemed like it was home made with herbs, the fish cake was delicious and the waitress was adorable and very attentive.

Been meaning to try this place for a while so turned up for a random lunch. Usual pub type menu plus...but we ate off the board as specials more interesting. Baked place totally delicious with mini potatoes and veggies, I noticed they even had 2 vegan options. It was quiet so we sat in the conservatory , watched the harbour and had a friendly chat with the bar man. Will go again.

Under New Management, Flying Fish Public House. New Chef Offering, British, French and Seafood Cuisine. 16th Century Pub offering a warm, welcoming environment for the quiet drinker or the relaxed diner. Pub quiz every Wednesday.
Lovely pub one of my favs. The food took a while to come out as I think they were maybe understaffed. However, all 12 of us where happy with our meals and very full. The food tasted good and the portions were very big. Would come back again to eat here and the beer selection and ambience were lovely.Thank you so much for this review.I apologize for the wait on food, normally we would take pre order for groups of ten or more, but as you can understand after a Bank Holiday it is difficult to predict what will be available as all our food is freshly prepared.Hope this did not damped your birthday celebrations.Hope to see you all soonViki

A beautiful bar & restaurant, with riverside views, serving food all day, every day, cooked by our professional chefs daily. Traditional & Tapas menu. Table service inside. A lovely large beach garden. Customer car park. Live music Wednesday & Saturday ev
We reckon this pub is worth a 20min bus ride and 2x10 min walks, even though we have great pubs in Rottingdean! A lovely modern patio terrace overlooking the estuary of the River Ouse, and a comfy, quirky, sea-themed bar inside the bi-fold doors. In winter there is even a log fire. Service at the long bar is professional and friendly, with a full range of wines, spirits and ales, including Harveyâs Sussex Bitter. We tried the tapas, choosing 6 dishes between 2. The garlic prawns, calimari and sticky pork in particular were all delicious and hot and only took 10min or so to come.Even the artisan bread was crispy and moist. Really hard to find any fault with this place! Will definitely be back.
