Decided to try this pub after reading good reviews couldn't fault the food really good, steak was excellent came with all the trimmings also best dianne sauce I have ever had and I have had a few lovely thin fries, hubby had cheese and onion pie chips and lovley vegetables only criticism too many onions in the pie but overall very good would definitely recommend this place.

A traditional village inn offering award-winning real ales, a good selection of wines and keg beers. The reputation of the food is well known and caters for most tastes.
We ate here with friends during a really busy week for the pub. They happily fitted us in even though we booked late. The service was impeccable. Polite and attentive but not too fussy. The food was outstanding. We only live locally and will definitely be back again. Can highly recommend a visit!

This is very much a locals pub, there was a group of locals at the bar chatting with the barman. That barman was not welcoming, friendly or in the least bit interested in a non-local. He needs some lessons on customer service. The menu was limited, the usual basics but no vegetarian options other than one dish that they suggested they could remove the chicken from. Given that chicken is the most pricey Ingredient, there was no mention of a reduction in price. Even the cheese ploughmans came with ham. The food was average, served by a pleasant young girl, she was way more talkative than Mr unwelcoming barman. A more mature barman took our desert order and he was much more personable, and we settled the bill with him. He thanked us for our business. All in all, it wasn't a bad meal, not to badly priced but we wouldn't return as didn't feel welcome. Customer service is everything and that younger barman seriously lacks friendliness, it's not all about the locals you know. How about making us all welcome?

It is 7 years since our last visit. In that time there has been a series of managers, some good and some bad. The young couple now running the pub, along with the other young couple doing the cooking and front of house duties are trying very hard to get it back on the map. The menu is understandably limited at this time but we were told it will expand. However, our 3 courses were well cooked and presented. The service we received was efficient and friendly. We will definitely return for their Thursday quiz night soon. With all the local competition we wish the new owners the best of luck. The signs look promising. Recommended.

I found Manor House whilst staying in nearby Newby Bridge. This pub massively exceeded all expectations. One of the best pub finds ever.Very warm and friendly welcome, attentive service, lovely atmosphere and finally truly epic food! The steak pie is by far the best I have had, I would go as far as saying that I bet there is no other steak pie in this country that could beat it. The chocolate tart was also an absolute treat and my wife cant wait to return just to have the tart again.I cant say a bad word about this pub. They have got everything spot on. If you want a friendly and welcoming pub which serves delicious food then this is place. I would recommend anyone staying in the wider area to make sure you check out the delights of Manor House.

After a lunchtime visit we tried to book an evening meal. It came as no surprise to find the place was fully booked right from outset since the reason we tried to book was simply the ambience and the feeling that weâd discovered a gem. Our lunch was just soup and sandwiches but there was enough evidence to convince us that a more formal meal would not disappoint. Sitting outside in the sun with lovely Lakeland views influenced our impressionof course, but the overall impact was of a real pub which had made the difficult move to become a good eating place. Service was friendly and excellent, the beer was local and first rate and the food was freshly made and not the standard pub fare. And the prices were not high. The repeat lunch the next day confirmed the first impression.

this is the name of the pub/Inn that is in the Newby Bridge Hotel
Stopped for lunch, good selection of ales, wine and food. Beautifully decorated, dog friendly and laid back bar. The food was good, the drinks pleasant. The service was excellent, the staff friendly. The only gripe for me was not enough staff. The barman was very busy. Top place.

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch. Called in on spec, and after enquiring if a table was available as they were very busy, was immediately shown to a table. Food and drink orders taken within minutes and thoroughly enjoyed. It's not the first time we have been and won't be the last, but I felt it well worth a mention. Top class.

Stayed just for one night before we did a traction engine driving experience at old hall farm next door. Very clean and comfortable with a lovely evening meal to boot!

Lovely location by the lake, delicious food and drinks. Good staff and welcoming atmosphere, child and pet friendly in the bar area for dining. Nice variety of food on the menu, well presented and scenic location by the bridge.
