The beer is the name of this local beer bar because they serve one of their own local brewery productions, and recently coming out with more tastes. It is a very high quality taste in all categories..

English speaking staff at hotel told me about this place. Bit eclectic ambience and warm welcome. Sat at the bar and as other people were seated were introduced. Nice touch to keep things lively and comfortable. Seemed to be a huge whiskey selection though didn't sample. Big cheap draft beer. They were hosting a big party on 2nd floor so had to wait until 9pm for kitchen to open but once it did I was not disappointed. Few foreigners kicking around who I understood to be local English teachers.Would go back next time in Morioka.

We visited the Bearen restaurant in Zaimokucho for Father's Day, and were cooled by the river breezes in the terrace overlooking the Kitakami. The food is German/Italian beer food (a bit hard for vegetarians, but not impossible), and there are usually about 6 varieties of home-brewed beer to taste. I understand the brewery is a fun place to visit.
