Reviews on Pub food in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Montreal, the "City of a Hundred Steeples." A versatile mix of old-world charm and new age innovation, where the modern skyscrapers of Downtown dovetail into the gorgeous stone-facades of the 18th-century Old Port. Ripe with culture and green spaces, its diverse community populates chic bistros and designer boutiques, indulging in enviable coffee along gallery-lined streets and on waterside terraces. A vibrant nightlife sees friendly crowds packing into nightclubs for a dance or to public squares for concerts and performance art. The city's environs offer skiing and skating, hiking and swimming within its limits. From high-flying roller coasters to low-key wine bars, Montreal has a fabulous artistic and theatre scene, interactive and innovative museums, a lively outdoor sporting culture, and a heroic culinary style that makes it difficult to imagine ever growing bored. Each neighborhood has its own distinct flair and forte, and exploring them all is sure to create lasting memories.

What a pleasant surprise to experience this Taverne in central Montreal. The location is convenient for the downtown core. The size is large and spacious. The decor is a wonderful old style with tiled floor, mirrors, wood, high ceilings, and old restaurant antique touches. There is a nice energy and it is bright enough to be welcoming and open. The Menu is more bistro-like with and 'meals' rather than just burgers, pizzas, fries, etc. I loved the braised pork back, with corn bread, cheese sauce and Brussels sprouts. Service was very good, with fully bilingual staff. Value was good. Recommended for sure, and a little on the unique side so worth consideration
