We had lunch at this old pub which is being renovated. We sat on the veranda ogling at the beautiful views over rolling green hills. Great atmosphere and the food was lovely. There are some great stories to be heard and one year the pub lost its roof during a cyclone and it was without a roof for long time.

As others have said, a classic grand old Queensland pub, far more interesting than modern hotels seen in the major cities. Can get a lunch here, but good for just a drink to soak up the country atmsphere.

Diggers den is part of the Malanda RSL
Nice restaurant at the rear of the local Malanda RSL. Thursday night was Parmigiana Night, and with nearly 10 choices of Parmy topper, the choice was excellent, tasted great too. Staff were excellent and friendly and the drinks were good value. I'll visit again.

Whether you're in need of some comfortable and affordable accommodation, a hearty meal at a traditional Australian Pub, a unique function venue, or information about the great events and attractions we have here, please don't hesitate to contact us.
It's more about the atmosphere, a grand hotel with all the old features and high ceilings and a wonderful almost formal grand dining room.It may be pub food but it tastes better in this atmosphere and the value is amazing; there is a special each night and tonight's rump steak at only $18 was a good meal and amazing value.

Always like to try a country pub for some good old fish & chips, usually a mainstay for pub tucker. The barramundi was 'fishy" tasting, not stored or prepared properly. Chips were average and the frozen (most likely imported) vegetables on the side were best left there. We will not be returning anytime soon. For a few dollars more per plate you can dine at good restaruants in the town.
