I ate here some years ago before they went through a thorough revamp. They have moved up from the simple bistrot style to something a little bit smarter. The service remains very old fashioned, in the best sense. Although there was some confusion about a salad we ordered to share as a starter, we received excellent attention. The owner in particular is very conscientious, even though the waiters and waitress were also attentive. The food was very very good; high quality, well presented and a couple of little quirks to make some classic dishes stand out. Prices rose after the refit and I'd say they are a touch more than I'd like to spend for this type of dining nevertheless. We will be back however!

French bistrot French cuisine Terrace Open all week Brunch on sunday Groups welcomed Kids menu Lunch and dinner menu
We've eaten here a twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch was better, I didn't appreciate the evening meal, it was too cold and impersonal with bad lighting, so not recommended for a romantic meal as a couple. Also on the downside, they have no evening set menu as they do at lunchtime.Twice is enough for me, I won't be going back.

We were in search of a cafe that would serve good (great?) french coffee and a light breakfast after sleeping in late, but alas... grumpy service (like Paris of the old days), resentment towards tourists, and no food. Lots of cigarette smoking by locals, and deliberate avoidance of the wait staff. But we didn't have much choice nearby, so we stayed long enough for the lunch service to start. What a delightful surprise. The service didn't really improve, but the classic brasserie style salad with smoked duck, and Italian style pizza with vegetables... were both delicious, artful, and beautifully presented. It was one of the best lunches we had in France over 10+ days, in both rural areas and downtown Paris. Sometimes patience is rewarded.
