Stayed here for a couple of nights when looking for a base to see friends and visit Padstow. Nestled in the rolling hills it really is in a stunning and peaceful location. We ate an excellent dinner on the first night. The food there is some of the best we ate on our entire holiday! There was a lovely buzzing atmosphere too because it was the pub quiz night! It’s obviously a very popular spot! We were really well looked after at both breakfasts too! You feel properly at home and like nothing is too much bother! We will definitely be back!So glad you enjoyed your stay with us and your food experience. It seems so different to the what shall I call them, lets be kind- the reviewers, who left the review the day after you. Its as if you came to two different venues! The one you came to is the one we are very proud of and happy to have won awards for our food! see you next time you are in Cornwall.

Harveys Bar and Bistro is situated in the centre of Launceston, Cornwall. We are proud to serve beers, wines, spirits and good food from local suppliers. We can cater for private functions in our cellar bar; afterwards, you can enjoy our games room which

We have now re-opened this quaint, destination Restaurant / Pub after a few months of gruelling refurbishment. We have returned the main sections of the inside into two cosy, comfortable, well heated dining areas in which we will be offering a regularly c
Called in for the first time last night and wasn't disappointed. We both had steak which was cooked to perfection. Lovely home cut chips and onion rings. Desserts were also very good with large portions. I can recommend the BlackBerry and apple crumble and custard.. The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble to make our meal out perfect. Booking essential I think as they seem to get busy.

DELICIOUS FOOD, DELECTABLE ALES, FINE WINES IN A WARM AND FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE.The perfect place for a casual drink, a family lunch by a warm fire, an after-shoot meal or a business meeting, and a fabulous venue for a celebration or a romantic candlelit di
Booked Sunday lunch, the first to arrive, great looking restaurantSat immediately and ordered two course Sunday lunch, waited quite a long time for starters and when they arrived one was the wrong order, so had another wait to receive the right starters, they were good food, however the waitress was asking us questions and before we could answer she was gone! Quite amusing as she was going through the motions on autopilot. We waited 40 minutes for the main course, as we were heading to a destination it ready did eat into our time frame. The main course was amazing! Again we were asked if it was alright and again the waitress was gone without listening to the replySomewhere the food and service need to marry, at present they do not! Also the serving plates were lovely however please go and buy matching cruets, we had 2 odd cheap chip shop style ones, petty but true! The long wait between courses ruined our experience!

This lovely rustic pub serves good honest food at reasonable prices. There were 5 of us and we sat in the restaurant area which is cosy, but there is also another separate bar area and seating outside. The homemade beef meat pie, chicken melt and battered fish dishes were all very tasty with generous portions. For drinks the special offer was a local violet gin at £2.50, which had a superb subtle flavour. Service was friendly and helpful.

The Archer arms is a village pub with a great local community. where Rob, Gemma and staff give a warm friendly welcome to all of our customers old and new. We serve fresh homemade meals from our cook Anita, with a variety for all dietary requirements! and
Visited numerous times whilst on holiday. On each and every occasion we received 1st class service. Every meal we had was excellent from ordering off the specials board to the regular menu. Excellent portion size and value for money. Would recommend this pub for food or just for a drink.

We ate at the Eliot Arms last week. We hadn't booked but called in on the off-chance. The restaurant was quite busy - a good sign. If you are a meat or fish fan, there are plenty of choices. Vegetarian options are there but not as many. My other half chose the Eliot Arms pie which he said was fabulous. I had the spicy vegetarian curry - not for the faint hearted! It was very good and flavoursome with lots of fresh veggies and rice. Portion sizes are extremely generous. All staff were very friendly and approachable and even though the place was full, all services were carried out in a calm manner. There is a car park across a small road. The Eliot arms is a feast for the eyes as well as a feast for your tum! Enjoy your visit.
