Kongsberg is the administration center in Kongsberg municipality. The city is located on the river Numedalslågen at the entrance to the valley of Numedal. The municipality of Kongsberg was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The rural municipalities of Ytre Sandsvær and Øvre Sandsvær were merged into the municipality of Kongsberg on 1 January 1964.

Nice location, nice interiors, great service. Great selection of beers. My husband had a burger, he was not impressed. I had high hopes for my veggie burger, it did not fulfill my expectations. A bland, boring vegetable mash in burger buns. No guacamole, though stated in the menu. Might have complained but didnât bother. Maybe the chef had a bad day? Or maybe a stand in?

Had an excellent tapas meal the other night during my stay in Kongsberg. Was a delightful experience and very good choice for dinner. Only disappointment was that the waiter did not present what the chef's special was when the food was brought out, so we had to guess our way through the meal.

Traditional beer house with local snacks. Beers feom all over the world, and some winws also. Rather quick service. The most traditional restaurant in Kongsberg.
