Lake of the Woods Brewing company is located in a 100+ year old historic fire hall in down town Kenora, ON. We brew all of our beer onsite with pride and careful attention to detail. The old fire truck bay has been converted into a taproom and eatery with
We took our teenagers out for a late dinner. The restaurant was packed and we were told it could be a 20 minute wait. We gave our cell number and barely 5 minutes later we received a text! The beer batter walleye was delicious as were the homemade chips and side of baked beans. Our boys ordered the chicken fingers and house chips and Caesar salad. Not one of us left a scrap of food on our plates! We also tried the Railway Double Chocolate Porter which was a big hit! The restaurant was busy and full of lively conversations! We had the opportunity to take advantage of sitting outside on a gorgeous fall evening! We filled a growler with the Railway after leaving the restaurant! Highly recommend! We visit this place every September long weekend!Hi Rhonda! That you for the awesome review! We are glad you enjoyed the food and beer (Railyard is soooo good!). See ya next September long!! - Rob

We frequent the Lake Vu restaurant (at the Co-op gas station) and particularly recommend the walleye dinner and the all-day available hashed-browns with everything, but this was our first Sunday night experience when the long-standing special is prime rib! Roast beef cooked to order, choice of potatoes, steamed veggies, Yorkshire pudding, jus de boeuf and choice of pie for dessert....scrumptious! The only thing that was missing--there was no horseradish sauce. We will definitely come again on a Sunday evening. (I'll pack some horseradish sauce in my purse.)

You can get a good burger for around $10, generous portion of fries $5. Gravy is amazing. Ate on their patio. Tables were dirty with old damaged table clothes. No ketchup at table. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins. Same problem happened at the table next to us. Kitchen is putting out great food. Servers are friendly, but need some additional training.

I have never stayed in the hotel therefore, I can't help you on that part. My husband and I went there for Dinner and sadly the food was expensive and terrible, the waitress was listening and taking part of our conversation not professional at all. We won't go there again for any meals !
Dined with friends after a long day of sailing. Great location on Storm Bay, Lake of the Woods. Option of, on the deck eating or indoors. We ordered: Walleye dinner and a selection of Appetizers. Both generous portions, along with cold local beer (Lake of the Woods Brewing Co.) making a great dinner. Both food and service were good. Lots of trophies on the wall as well as other interesting artifacts. We will return as we felt there was good value to the meal as well as the experience. Boat access has 9 1/2 ' at the end of main dock for sailboats. Road access is down the Storm Bay road (East of Kenora on Hwy 17), which is well signed.
