We got to Rocs about 9:00 AM to find it almost totally full. Apparently, they weren't expecting this big of a crowd because it was over an hour before we got a table setting and an hour an a half before we got our food. Not a big problem because we got to watch the wonderful polo matches while we waited. We love this restaurant for Sunday mornings as we get front row seats for polo matches. We order Bloody Marys and have one of their great breakfasts. I had the Eldorado Scrambler which is three scrambled eggs, cheese and Tater Tots. Yum! Mrs. M had the Breakfast Burrito which she loved. We come here every year and love it!

Had dinner here; with their on-line coupon it was two chicken dinners for $31. Not a bad deal; have to buy two overpriced soft-drinks along with the coupon. The dinner includes soup, salad, corn bread, biscuit, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and black-eyed peas. They also give you a couple of extra pieces of chicken for the road. Very good fried chicken; good service but definitely a throwback to the old days. Give it a try.

Our server was trying to explain all of the two for options that Applebee's has now, so we ordered a two for $20. Both had chicken which just didn't taste like real chicken. Potatoes tasted like instant, but they tried by swirling a balsamic reduction for an added level of taste. My Asian salad had wilted lettuce.

Unique fine dining experiences have all but disappeared in Southern California. Menus seem to have shrunk to steaks, lobster, fish and ribs with few creative dining adventures you can get excited about. After looking for a special restaurant for our anniversary, we heard some good feedback about a restaurant in the local Fantasyy Springs casino in Indio, CA. We went there for our special occasion and we really enjoyed the entire experience. The restaurant is upstairs, in a niche area off the main promenadeânot too flashy, but private. No looky-loos looking in the window or throngs of people passing by. The ambience is warm and luxurious without being stuffy. Only tables here, no booths. Our server was friendly and attentive and offered us a wide variety from the full bar before ordering. The menu has an extensive and very tempting selection of appetizers and wide variety of entrees, as well as some interesting sushi selections. Choosing one dish was really challenging, there were so many enticing dishes. I chose a Miso-sake glazed sea bass, and my husband chose the Kobe beef meat loaf stuffed with white cheddarâand we shared. Although my sea bass, a personal favorite, was delicious, I could hardly stop stealing bits of my husbands meat loaf. It was bursting with flavor! Throughout the meal, the server continued to attentive but not intrusive. And After this leisurely dinner, we had NO room for any of the delicious desserts. But they were so tempting we ordered a couple to take home. We wanted to order the Bistro gourmet cookie box, but we were told they sell out early and oftenâso if you want the cookie box, order early! We ended up taking home a warm chocolate pecan pie and a pastry wrapped banana dish. Both were excellent, but I suspect would be better if enjoyed in the beautiful ambiance of the restaurant, rather than out of a styrofoam box in the front of the TV later that night, LOL. All in all, this was a wonderful celebration of our anniversary, and we plan to repeat it again this year. It will be hard to force ourselves to try something new on the menu, and we have resolved in the future to go more often than once a year! The overall expense was not out of range of our expectations for fine dining, and we felt it was well worth the price. After our dinner we spent an hour or two on casino floor, and my anniversary celebration was topped off by a $500+ win on a 50¢ Slot machine! Great memorable night!

We sought out a karaoke bar. Found Neils on google.Friendly staff, good crowd. We had chicken fingers/fries as a snack. Done well, came with dips. However, the KJ spent more time tending bar than running the karaoke. He would set up 4 singers, then disappear for half hour or more. Then another 4 singers and then he's gone again. Very slow operator. We came for karaoke and a fast rotation, but we ende up just sitting and wasting time. We left and found Plan B Lounge in Thousand Palms on Monterey Rd near I-10. The KJ (Red) ran one singer after another and had a much better sound system. We recommend Plan B Lounge for Karaoke.

We wandered in here at about 9 p.m. and were welcomed warmly. We ate light; the house special flautas and a quesdilla con crema, both excellent. Enjoyed the wood-carved Mexican scenes on the furnishings that show a commitment to style and culture. Judging by the other patrons, it's a local favorite place.

Big Rock Pub in Indio California, the valley's newest local hotspot with a blend of classic rock and classic cuisine.
We have been to Big Rock on multiple occasions and have always enjoyed the food, music and ambiance. The food service could be a little better but it does get busy and the staff tries. The food menu is somewhat limited in scope but what they do offer is great! Big Rock is part of a golf course (which is a very nice 18 Hokes) and is not what you would expect of a golf venue! They have a lot of live music events and when you come into the dining room you will understand why. A must see!

Who would have thought that you could get a fantastci Vegan Cheeseburger at a western tavern in Indio??? I am not sure what type of a imitation burger was used, but it was really good. The burger also came with mushrooms and onions. Now if you are coming for a variety of Vegan food, look elsewhere as this is pretty much Tavern fodd but fresh and cooked really well. This is a pretty unique place with the log structure and saddles, yes saddles, that are used for some of the stools. Very friendly atmosphere and our server, Patti, was fantastic!!!
