Nice place, the food is ok, but the waiters are so unfriendly ! You can't pay separately even for drinking.. If you get a smile, you can consider yourself to be lucky ! Been there many times, always the same.. Hit the road.

Small surprising wine bar on the Grand Place in Huy. Nice selection of wines - also unusual ones eg Jackson Triggs, a Canadian merlot. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Nice touch: you also get to taste wine you order by the glass, so no risk in getting adventurous. Good snacks & tapas to go with your wine. A recommendation in the otherwise bland centre of Huy.

Quick service. Approx. 100 seats.
Like many Belgian towns, Huy has its Grand' Place, and attractive it is, especially with its fine 1766 town hall.La Brasserie like a number of other eating establishments on the square has outdoor eating and on the sunny early May day we were there, its tables were in the shade - so it got our vote. We ordered the plat du jour - lamb on a skewer with onion, beans and roast potato. Everything was great except that the lamb wasn't bien cuit - note to self to ask for that next time ordering lamb in this part of the world (even if they'll think I'm an unsophisticated oaf).A few minutes walk from the Grand Place are the town's 14th century Gothic cathedral, with its famous west-facing rose window and Bethlehem Gate with ancient carvings, plus the town's grim hilltop fortress, with fine views, numerous miserable prison cells (in one of which P.G. Wodehouse was incarcerated for just over a month in 1940) and interesting, old-fashioned World War II exhibition.
