Reviews on Pub food in Howth, Province of Leinster, Ireland. Howth (/ˈhoʊθ/; Irish: Binn Éadair, meaning "Éadar's peak") is a village and outer suburb of Dublin, Ireland. The district occupies the greater part of the peninsula of Howth Head, forming the northern boundary of Dublin Bay. Originally just a small fishing village, Howth with its surrounding once-rural district is now a busy suburb of Dublin, with a mix of dense residential development, quarries and wild hillside. We were sitting at a table and having some drinks, but when we didnât even finish them we were send away because they needed our table four people who wanted to eat something. This was ridiculous while another table was sitting there longer than we were. We were only allowed to sit there for about 15 minutes. The waiter treated us badly and was very rude as well. Not a good place and we will sure not return there.

Despite its name this pub isn't on Howth Harbour but up one of the hilly streets leading away from the harbour. The place has a nice atmosphere and is a good place to go fro a quiet pint away from the very crowded harbour area.

Rooms above the pub adequate with comfortable bed and shower quite good, and the pub itself is nice and friendly. However, they don't tell you can hear pub noise through the floor, and they had a band until 0045 on one night, so impossible to sleep. Indeed one of the staff lied when she said the rooms are soundproofed.

Walk up to the summit via the tracks- take in the scenery and then reward yourself with a pint and some seafood chowder.Good selection on the menu, food tasty and came out quickly. Service very friendly and efficient. Free wifi and comfortable seating inside. If weather permits, you can sit outside. Prices reasonable and caters for most dietary needs. All menu items labeled clearly so you know what they contain. Definitely worth a visit when in Howth. Can walk back down to waterfront via the road or via the walking tracks or even get a bus which stops almost outside pub.

The restaurant located in the main street of Howth (right across the street from the local church) offers four rooms to tourists. The rooms are medium-sized but nicely furnished with also medium-sized bathroom. The location is crucial, you can visit the attractions of the pensinsula (the castle and the cliffs) and, when you are done, walk down the hill to take the DART to the center of Dublin. The location is also crucial because when you are hungry or in need of a drink and/or company and/or music, all you have to do is go down the stairs to the restaurant below. However, if you don't like music... well... you should look elsewhere for accomodation as the weekend concerts can be listened to in the rooms above.

We had lunch for my dads birthday but never again, after long time we thought was going to be better but nothing changed, always overpriced and slow service. We ordered 2 sea bream mains and a rib eye, the fish was just half fillet with mush potatoes and green beans for 18 euro, for that price can be better, there was no fish. The meat was nice tasty but on 10 oz there was 3 oz of fat that was left on the plate for 23 euro. The restaurant was not full at all but we had to wait over 40 mins, very slow..... and after our meal we had to order an extra portion of wedges and a calamari because everyone was still starving. We had 3 pints of beer and 2 coffees. The bill was 97 euro for 3 people in the end and nobody was happy. We paid over 30 euro per person to have only potatoes. Thanks million for the lovely meal.Hi thanks for taking the time to write your review. I am extremely disappointed to hear you didn't enjoy your visit. We had a lovely evening here for a little family get together. Although we were late asking for an area for ten people a lovely member of staff Ian really looked after us and got us tables altogether to enjoy the live music. Thank you to Ian and all the staff of OâConnells for making our night extra special. Highly recommend this place

This place is phenomenal, I really loved the history of it and the way it is designed , the gardens outside look stunning but most important the SEAFOOD is extraordinary. It was a Wednesday and I ordered a Chowder and A seafood platter the waiter ( MARIO ) suggested me this meal. The service was great as well and Mario was a very polite guy and looked after me and my wife. He gave us some tourist attractions to visit in Dublin and suggested us to do the Cliff walk. We we're sitting next to a window by the fire and we loved everything about this place. Definitely will come back one day. Gracie everybody
