BK Sweeney's Uptown Grille

We were here on Easter for Sunday Brunch. I was surprised at the sizable menu Sweeney's has for Brunch. Every table starts with a basket of crumb cake. The brunch includes choice of a mimosa, bloody Mary or Screwdriver. Entrees vary from quiche to omelet to meat and eggs dishes. Meal comes with choice of juice and coffee or tea. There is a no substitute policy. I ordered the quiche which was served with a fresh salad of many kinds of greens. Oh, so good! The noise level is decent and you can enjoy a conversation with your friends. Service is excellent. All in all a great day out.

Great place to watch a German Bundesliga Fussball game. We went there during a friendly game between Spain vs. Germany. The Crab cake was delicious! The Bratwurst was also tasty. The bartender was attentive and friendly. Food came out really quick. We will be back for the next fussball game.

Revel Restaurant & Bar835 Franklin Ave, Garden City, NY 11530-4526This is just another one of the same “openings” of the few “similar beginning” ‘openings’ expressing our feelings regarding a few of the restaurants in this area. We were in town for a quite a number of days, therefore, we decided to 'try-out' the many area restaurants in and around the entire area.We tried all of them a few times to give them a 'fair-shake';We also decided to eat early dinner at all of them. Now, THIS particular place’s “layout” or ‘setup’ when we walked into, whetherFrom the Huge Parking Lot into, (for lack of a better description), the “BAR” entrance,OR, from the main Franklin Avenue (“Front/ Street”) Entrance, is a very different, interesting,Image. IF you enter from the Parking Lot, you walk into this spacious area, with the tablesand guests situated at very logical, reasonably-spaced, comfortably separated intervals.AHH, elbow room. Room enough to have a conversation with anyone seated with you, withoutHaving the ‘next-table-over’ listen to your quiet conversation, or you have to listen / hear theirquiet, low speaking, conversations. The “Bar” area seems more upbeat, more suited for gatherings and friends to enjoy a great tasting meal from a nice bunch of choices from the menu. The Owner was present on each of our several visits to ensure quality control. He visited each us, and each table, each of the several times we dined for dinner. WE alternated entering both through the “street entrance” and eating both in the “front” and “bar” areas; and vice versa: through the parking lot entrance and eating in the bar area and the ‘front’. Regardless the entrance or the choices of our seating, the attempt to grant us our seating and dining preferences were always very-hard to be granted. With it being very, very, crowded each time we went, it might be advisable to make Reservations. We did on our final visit; and, wisely we were advised the preceding time, to ‘come a tad early’ to allow the staff to ‘target a finishing table and prep it’ so that we could be seated around about our reservation time preference. Otherwise, with the Staff having no control over those who linger ‘too-long’, there might be a wait on thatX hour reservation that was made? Again, can’t blame the establishment for guests who linger. We almost ‘lingered too long’. The food, staff, service, menu, were all so wonderful and delightful, we really did not want to leave…. No pressure. ‘ambiance; very appropriate. Let me explain. When we say “BAR” area, we do not mean, “drinking” bar crowd…. The “bar” happens to be in the parking lot section of this“split-in-half” typeset up which have two different images. The “Bar” section is more open and vivacious, what we would describe as more-suited for more lively crowd and groups having a bubbly time. The “font”/ “Street” area, to us, would be a more-intimate, quieter, more-appropriate dinner area for a couple or subdued group. Both sections were great when we went the few times we tried it.Both sections were civilized, appropriate in their decibel levels, and, to repeat, the staff was attentive and friendly each time. The food was very good and tasty with many choices available from a wide menu selection. You cannot go wrong here if you chose this place. Though you might have to walk a piece through the massive parking lot, there is totally adequate parking in a huge parking lot with entrance through or to the “Bar” entrance. This is a quite optimal choice if you are looking for spacious arm-leg room seating in a choice of intimate or bubbly atmosphere with tasty good meals from a nice menu selection being served by an attentive friendly staff. Just remember to arrive a tad early, even with reservations; and, also allow extra time to get from your car to the restaurant if you happen to get a spot quite a distance from the parking-lot entrance as the entire area, including this wonderful gem, is always full ‘to the brim’. Whatever you pick from the menu, go and …. Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! We sure did the few times; we went and dined with an early dinner for two. Yummy Yummy Yummy, Revel Food in our tummy. MM! MM! Good. All of Revels Food is MM MM Good! That’s all folks!

Leo's is far from high dining. The food is so-so. But the environment is really neat and the food almost becomes secondary. You can meet friends here, enjoy a bite or drink and have a great time. I was recently here for Sunday brunch. The offerings are decent though if you don't drink alcohol early in the day it's not for you. You're far better ordering a la carte in that case which is what we did. I had French toast which was tasty and satisfying. Add coffee to the meal and you have a really good brunch. Service is good and they're always checking to make sure your coffee cup isn't empty. This is a neat local place to meet some friends and hang out.
