Things to do in
This place used to be a real dive but since the new landlord and landlady have arrived, it has a lovely atmosphere. They seem to have got rid of all the trouble makers and it'sNow somewhere you can have a glass of wine with friends or a coffee and milkshake with the kids. A great friendly pub with loads of potential.

As I didn't make a booking in a local pub and couldn't be accommodated as it was full, we decided to try the Brewers Arms for Sunday lunch. Upon arrival I ordered a pint of Harveys and a De-caff coffee. The lad pulled the Harvey's and went to the kitchen for the De-caff. A half pint later he re-appeared and embarrassingly said "sorry we don't do De-caff"??? I queeried this and a Gemma Collins look-alike looked at us both as though we had asked for a double whisky in a hot water bottle!! In fact it rather humiliated the wife. A restaurant pub that doesn't stock De-caff???? As my wife carries sachets of de-caff in her bag for this rare occasion, she asked if they would use the sachets. Once again, the Gemma doppelganger reacted as though we had asked her to empty a colostomy bag! (not that either of us has one). VERY reluctantly she agreed but charged us £3 50 for her trouble. After Gemma left, the lad mouthed an apology and asked if we were eating. I said not now, you probably don't have any potatoes! Never again will I cross that threshold and intend to add this review to my Facebook. We do have decaf it's just unfortunate it was not available on that Sunday. Also our coffee price is 2.75 not 3.50. I have looked around everywhere and cant find a Gemma Collins look alike anywhere!!

A summers evening what could go wrong? Unfortunately it started badly as the poor girl behind the bar was overworked and did not know the menu. The tables in the garden were dirty with previous diners & the food took took an age to arrive. Then the food. We had a side order of peas which arrived undrained & swimming in water & we had ordered crispy halloumi which was chargrilled to death & completely dry, it was supposed to have a dressing but if so was in a minuscule portion. We asked the chef for extra dressing & was told no problem. It never came so I went to the bar to complain only for the chef to argue try & tell me it was sent to the table. I have never heard anything like it surely you apologise & find out why it did not arrive. Never again....

From February 2019 the Heathfield Tavern is under new ownership and is now part of Ridley Inns, a small local chain of family run pubs in East Sussex. You can be assured of a warm welcome at The Heathfield Tavern, with a broad selection of delicious, high
We had heard, and read, positive reports of the Heathfield Tavern since the Ridley family took it over. Knowing how well-run the Cock Inn (near Ringmer) and the Highlands Inn (Uckfield) are, it came as no surprise that we so enjoyed our evening meal there on 12th October. There was a lively, cheery atmosphere in the bar area, whilst the restaurant is smart, roomy and comfortable. The three members of staff who looked after our table were welcoming, friendly, helpful and very capable. Our meals (There were three of us and we each had three courses.) were tasty, ample, well presented and very reasonably priced.I can see no reason why this pub should not thrive. It is a very welcome addition to Heathfield's choice of eateries. Strongly recommended!

A grade 2 listed public house with open fires and gastronomic food to suit all. Situated in the quiet village of Rushlake Green with a beer garden and summer events this pub offers something for the entire family.
There are several good walks which begin & end at Rushlake Green.Lots of parking around the green. We were just planning a drink but the sandwiches looked good so we had a couple of rounds a bowl of chips and olives. Despite the previous âterribleâ review I saw on TripAdvisor the three female staff were very polite.Nice selection of beers. Keg beers in a cool cellar which made it a lovely refreshing drink on a hot day.Ham was good quality in nice thick slices with a tasty chutney.Good sized beer garden. Looks like they do events so may affect service at times but we had no complaints. Will come back to try a main meal. Have added a couple of pics of our local walk as it starts just 20m north of the pub.

We went for the promotion of 2 courses for £10. Having eaten at this pub many times in the past but always from the main menu. It has always been good. Our first courses were alright, but the following main was pretty awful. The vegetables were reheated and tasted as if they had been hanging around. The pub was not particularly busy so thatâs not an excuse. we were both disappointed at the poor quality.Hi thank you for your feedback about your visit to The Swan. There are a couple of points I need to address. Firstly I am shocked you didnât tell a member of staff you wasnât happy, secondly I donât know when you were eating but Monday and Tuesday was busy at food service time both days. Thirdly I have no idea why you havenât left us a good review on the MANY good meals you have had at The Swan. We hate the fact people hide behind keyboards just to criticise and ruin reputations of businesses that we work very hard in. I hope you have a very good meal again at The Swan and on the 1 occasion you didnât, it doesnât happen again.

We have just popped into this pub, which we have not been in before and had not booked on route to a Wedding this afternoon. Unfortunately there was no tables available inside, so although it was windy we order two roasts and sat in the very pleasant garden with comfy chairs. We were mindful that the food would get cold very quickly if not hot when served, but we neednât have been concerned as both fresh vegetables, pots and beautifully tender thick cuts of both beef and pork were served by very helpful waitresses after about 10 minutes. My wife said that it was one of the best roast dinners she had ever had at an extremely reasonable £9.95. Thank you all the staff at the Runt in Tun. Dave and Sandra Smith

When walking on the Wealden Way we recommend taking the time to discover The Gun, an atmospheric pub-restaurant on the outskirts of Heathfield, East Sussex. This fifteenth century pub is full of period charm and countryside comfort, the interior carefully
Visited second time in a month having been many times when we lived in hailsham 35 years ago. Much much better than 35years ago!!! Great variety of food on the menu with lots of unusual dishes(pigeon, lobster, kebabs,) Can't fault the service or the food. Lovely clay oven where pizzas are freshly made. Lovely for family's with a pleasant garden, burger shack and bar. Would definitely recommend and will be back.Definitely need a sign on the main A22 road to show people where to go.

The Black Duck dates from the 1500's and is situated in a truly rural location. The views are amazing - not an overhead cable in sight! The property was completely renovated in 2011 retaining its character and opening up the huge magnificent inglenook fir
