The Ship Hotel, Brancaster offers boutique stays in 9 beautifully appointed en-suite rooms. The hotel has been lovingly restored to retain its historic charm and the award-winning restaurant and bar offers food and drink daily. Weâre also completely pet-f
We turned up without booking but were advised that the restaurant was fully booked. It clearly wasn't and also didn't fill up during the evening. We were told that we could eat in the bar, which is very badly lit other than one bright light that is somewhat dazzling.Food was simple and ok and reasonable valueInitial beer was flat but 2nd pint was betterFriendly serviceDear Graham P,Thank you for your review, i am glad that overall you enjoyed the meal, we do keep our prices on a par with other similar establishments in the local area.I hope you give us another try next time you are in the area.Kind RegardsMatthew JonesGeneral Manager

The Railway Inn Pub and Bed & Breakfast in Docking is a family owned free-house pub located in the picturesque village of Docking, just a few miles in-land from the scenic North Norfolk coast line.
Visited here today as a âniceâ end to our family holiday.....first of all I am pretty sure this restaurant must be writing their own reviews. We came for the Sunday carvery......if you want rock hard swede, and rock hard parsnips and meat with no juice and dry as a bone then this is your place......the waitress did not come over to check how our meal was at all.....when they came over to collect our plates we pointed out how appalling the food was the staff all came over and actually started arguing with us.....and told us we cleared our plates which we certainly did not. They actually accused us of lying! What a horrific experience with no ambience....an absolute dive. At no point was any reduction to to the meal offered.....thank god for spar up the road.....you know itâs bad when you take a trip to spar after a meal out.

Occupying a convenient spot between Hunstanton and Heacham, the Honetstone looked promising. however, once inside, the sticky tables and tatty menus, gave a more realistic projection of what was to come.Food was mediocre to say the least, defrosted or otherwise reconstituted from its long-term storage without much care, to give bland meals and very mean portions. The prices, while not excessively high, meant this place was neither cheap nor cheerful. Waitress Zoe was the only saving grace, trying her very best to ensure we were looked after.

Thank goodness! This place has not been done up. The bar side of it has received little attention for several years, but is no worse for that. The restaurant room at the back has a bare floor and basic pine tables, but the food was very good. We had the roast beef Sunday lunch - with 9 different vegetables on the plate! We will definitely be back whenever we are in Heacham. Please don't modernise the Fox and Hounds.

We went here for our Sunday lunch today.Lovely Pub, very inviting traditional pub.The Carvery is excellent, the price appears to have gone up since our last visit. Still good value.I had the Roast beef, well cooked, good tasty slices of meat.the veg was excellent, good varied selection, loved the cauliflower cheese and leeks. It was obvious the chef had made A big effort with the Veg. Everything was well cooked. We all enjoyed our meals. Excellent friendly service.next time we are in the area this is where I shall be heading for my Sunday lunch.

Really pleasant atmosphere and surroundings. Staff were all lovely. We only had the lasagna but that was very well presented, and clearly home made (not out of a freezer!) My only complaint if you can call it that, is that the garlic bread had neither a smell or a hint of a taste of garlic, but it didnât detract too much from our enjoyment of the meal. There seemed to be quite a few locals in, which is always a good sign. The outdoor areas were very inviting, and the bar and restaurant area were beautifully finished and lovely to sit in.All in all a lovely visit and would be happy to return.

Beautiful 17th Century Coaching Inn in the pretty village of Ringstead, only a few miles from the bustling North Norfolk Coast.
This time we went with friends for Sunday lunch, having been before on our own. My wife and our two friends had gerusalem artichoke and wild mushroom pie, very good pastry. I had the fish fillet. Greta food.

We came with friends (who live in Norfolk) for an catch-up dinner and a very good evening meal it was. The welcome was very friendly and the atmosphere was good. The staff were efficient and helpful. There was a good choice on the menu. My wife is Gluten Free and her diet did not cause any problems. I had the pork, which I would certainly recommend. There was a good choice of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The cost was reasonable. I would certainly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a meal in the area.

We visited yesterday and the only thing said to us was "seven pounds eighty". There was no hello, no thankyou and no goodbye! Needless to say but our pint and a half of cider and a packet of mini chedders will be the last things that we ever order here.It really doesn't cost anything to greet a customer in a polite fashion.I'm really disappointed, reading this review. This is a total failure on the part of the person who served you and I can only offer my most sincere apologies. I'm going to be messaging you privately, I really hope we can make this right by you.Thank you for bringing this to our attention, it WILL be rectified.
