A great place to stay, excellent room and friendly staff. Evening meals here over a 2-night stay and substantial breakfasts left us with complete satisfaction (and no need to buy lunch!). The village shop opposite is well worth a visit too. Top tip: If you are visiting Vindolanda etc an unmarked road on the left just after the Hotel takes you under the busy A69, avoiding hair-raising turns!

After a brisk walk in the surrounding area we stopped off here for lunch. We all opted for the tasty sounding sandwiches and they certainly hit the spot. Generous portions, fresh ingredients. good hearty pub food. Friendly and welcoming staff.

This inn overlooks the South Tyne river and its beautiful fells. Situated "off the beaten track" it well rewards those who travel to find it. It is also a very good lunch spot for those who ride the narrow gauge railway from Alston. The Kirkstyle Inn has
We had a couples evening meal at the Kirkstyle Inn. We were warmly welcomed, staff were friendly and very accommodating. Food was great, catering for gluten free requirements in our party and the local beer hit the right spot. Presentation of meals was good, portions were large, and well-cooked steaks were accompanied by delicious sauces. We timed our visit to coincide with the monthly fun quiz night, so got entertained as well.

The Greenhead Hotel is a 3-star hotel situated in the hamlet of Greenhead in Northumberland, which is right at the heart of the Hadrianâs wall trail just off the A69, 19 miles from Carlisle, 9 miles from Brampton and just over 3 miles from Haltwhistle whe
Stopped here for a bit of lunch after walking along a section of the wall. The lunch menu had a great choice (my fish finger sarnie was awesome). Good choice of beers as well. It has obviously been recently been done up. Friendly staff.Would definitely return.

The Twice Brewed is set amongst some of the most breathtaking scenery in England and stands in the shadows of Steel Rigg, without doubt one of the most dramatic parts of Hadrianâs Wall. The Inn is situated on the B6318 (The Military Road) midway between N
A well-located pub on the old military road close to Steel Rigg and therefore only a short stroll down from the footpath along Hadrian's Wall. Standard pub fare, all good value and freshly prepared. Beer brewed on the premises. Just what you need after a healthy walk.

Dropped in hoping to get a table at 7pm on a Saturday and luckily we could. Lovely food in a lovely little village pub, nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly and efficient service.

You are unlikely to come across this place by accident but it is worth doing the research and going to it. It is unusually situated in the middle of an attractive retirement chalet park. The interior design is warm and welcoming and staff were friendly. I had the best pub food I have had for a long time. I had scampi and chips - the chips were chunky, home cooked and tasty. Even the peas were fresh not frozen. For dessert I had creme brûlée which came with little shortbread biscuits warm from the oven. I will definitely return when I am in those parts again.Thank you very much for taking the time to review Blenkinsopp Castle Inn. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your visit and hope you will call on us again.

A traditional family run country pub serving home cooked food and a selection of real ales, beers, wines and spirits. Booking are recommended during the busy summer season. Sorry but we are unable to allow dogs inside the pub however, dogs are very welcom
Located a few football fields away from Hardrianâs Wall in Northumberland county this 1600âs pub is the perfect place to stop in when you are out driving the countryside and looking for the wall and Sycamore gap (with the tree that was made more famous for being in the Kevin Cosner Robin Hood movie) . It is cozy and warm, with a great selection of hearty food and great beers and ales on tap. The food is pretty much pub standard but it is done with a few modern twists and done well. Plus when it is wet and chilly outside (something I was told is a rather frequent condition) it is a great place to sit and enjoy the fire. If you are hiking, or as most of us would be, driving the wall and the region stop in for a tasty bite and take the chill off your bones.

Small traditional real ale pub. Offering a cozy, friendly & welcoming environment for both tourists & locals alike. We cannot provide restaurant service or capacity. Just good honest pub fayre for individuals, couples & small parties. Please note. We are
Spent two nights in Haltwhistle while walking Hadrianâs Wall. Ate here both nights. Good honest reasonably priced food and well-kept local beer. Quick service, friendly staff, and a roaring fire on the second night. Busy pub guaranteed to appeal to foreign tourists as a proper example of an English pub.
