We joined friends at The Brick recently for dinner. It is about the only reasonably priced place to stick with our Keto diet. The Hamburger Steak with steamed veggies and salad keeps us on target. If you aren’t dieting, you can’t go wrong with the Bacon Cheeseburger and Fries.

An uncompromising dining experience in small town Alabama. Living in the Guntersville/Albertville area has occasionally brought a few very good dining options over the years but none have been as fine as this restaurant in downtown Guntersville. From the ambiance as you enter to the friendly attentive service to the amazing food preparation and taste it easily warrants a 5 star rating. They also offer a very nice wine list where we found an excellent Bordeaux to accompany our outstanding steak dinners. Bravo Beatrice!

We love occasionally going to The Pointe when we're in Guntersville, kinda divided up into three areas, the younger crowd is inside with their style of music, the older crowd - like us - are on the covered patio area with a live band and dancing. And then the upstairs is more of a stand around and talk to your friends that aren't into the hip-hop or the rock / county music downstairs. The wait staff have a big job and get around quickly. Those girls work and we appreciate them. The food is hit or miss, usually what ever is on special is a good bet. Good security staff, visible and alert. Can't wait for friends to visit us so we can take them.

I’m not a fan of this restaurant anyway and I haven’t been for awhile. That said, members of my family like it so I eat here from time to time. We caught them on an “off night” unfortunately on our latest visit. They got slammed with customers I guess and food and drinks were very, very slow being delivered. My wife was excited about the new steak specials and ordered one of them. She ordered the potato bake casserole to go with her steak. We must have waited an hour and when it was delivered - not in all that time before - she was informed they were out of potato bake casserole. Not only that, but they were out of baked potatoes. And the onion straws that were supposed to have accompanied her meal were nowhere to be seen. It took another 15-20 minutes to get them. It was not at all a pleasant dining experience for her. I had a few bites of her steak. I was glad I did not order one. I’ve learned over the years that Applebee’s steaks are average at best. The manager came by and visited and I informed him that overall it was a substandard experience. He took responsibility and comped our meal but not our drinks. It was a very courteous thing for him to do and I appreciate it. He’s only been there a few days and I do wish him the best in getting things turned around. I’m not going to mention the bad without also telling about the good. Applebee’s has a really good margarita and they’re usually on special. It’s a high point of a visit to the restaurant. I had a salad and it and the homemade ranch dressing were good. Applebee’s also has good appetizers and the wonton tacos and chicken quesadillas I ordered were tasty. While I didn’t have it on this visit, I’ve learned that Applebee’s fiesta lime chicken is always very good. The apps and fiesta lime chicken are my “go to”foods when the family wants to dine here. I will be adding the house salad to that list. On this night, the appetizers were slow coming out too but that might have been because they were waiting on my wife’s steak to bring it all at once.
