We stopped for lunch at de Groene Weide, on our bicycle trip around the island. The outside seating was nearly full, there was no-one inside. we managed to get a table outside and ordered some drinks and some salads and sandwiches. No challenge for the chef, but the food we got was very nice. The bread was nice brown bread, The smoked salmon I and shrimps I had were lovely and I got a generous amount. Not drowned in cocktail sauce, just a small amount for some extra flavor. The salads my friends had were also highly appreciated. Altogether a lovely lunch at a fair price.

The manager is a very friendly guy, works very hard to keep everything flowing and gives a lot of encouragement to his staff, friendly chat with the customers. The waiters are very friendly , big smiles just a little slower than in a regular restaurant. We had a chicken salad. A big plate of fresh well seasoned veggies with a generous amount of lovely warm spiced chicken pieces.A great combination of sweet,sour, spiced, warm ,cold .The brownies were great. Relaxing lovely meal.

Came here in a weekend late June. Very slow service, poor food, average at best. Prices are fairly high, too. Go someplace else.

A broad menu with lots to choose from if you are with friends. The Griffel is an old school house and has a nice relaxed atmosphere for dinner - outside and inside space depending on the weather. Friendly staff and good attention to your requests.

We stayed in Grou while on a boat trip. This is a small town without a lot of restaurants to pick from, so we were presently surprised by our experience at Amicaal. The food and service were very good, and the prices were reasonable. We particularly liked our waiter who was a young guy with a great personality. We would go back if ever in Grou.

A friendly bar that serves good food late, also on weekdays when many restaurants in Leeuwarden close their kitchens early. The beer selection is great and if you like whiskey, this is probably among your best option in town. The waiters are attentive and have an enjoyable, dry sense of humour. Often there is live music, sometimes they also organize a pub quiz.

This place has tons of charm. Great for coffee, tea, chocolate or other delicious stuff you 'need'. They also sell cups, mugs, coffee beans, tea, chocolate and what more. Great owner that is very jovial and happy.

Extremely tasty lunch, dinner and bar bites. The lamb burger, fish burger are the best I ever had. Nice cocktails, smoothies an beer of the month too.
