We went last night to celebrate an Anniversary. Red chowder terrible--tasted like watery tomato juice and hardly any clams. White chowder was very good. Clamcakes very good. For entrees, Dad's burger was overcooked (he asked for medium and got well done), Sister's/Mom's shrimp scampi was just okay and kind of watery. 5 large shrimp on top of the linguine. Hubby's panko breaded fish and chips delicious. My haddock overcooked and everything on the plate was lukewarm, especially the broccoli, which was cold. I didn't send it back as it would have disrupted everyone's meal. And at $19, expected better.

Located on a golf course on route 138 in Richmond, RI is Alaina's Ale House which I understand has only been opened a few months. It's a small restaurant and adjoining bar area and outside dining in the back but turns out great dishes. A very informal restaurant and not fine dining but with an Irish flair both in beverages and food. I was visiting family there this weekend and we all decided to try it for the Sunday Brunch which is detailed on their web site along with both lunch and dinner menus and beverages. Although the brunch operates from 9am to 2pm, we arrived around 12:45pm but the brunch crowd was almost gone as was some of the food on the buffet. There were eight of us but since we had to wait for them to arrange tables for us, we were told that they were going to institute their dinner menu early in a few minutes. So we waited around 15 minutes and were seated together inside (who wants to eat outside with bugs in the heat) and ordered from the dinner menu. We ordered two appetizers, the calamari (Dublin style) at $10.00; and several plates of Reuben Tots ($9.00 each). They have a huge selection of draft and bottled beers and signature cocktails. There is a children's menu with six selections. We enjoyed the Fish and Chips ($13.00), Meat Loaf Burger ($12.00), Pot Pie Fritters ($8.00), Chicken and Mushrooms ($14.00), Veggie Burger ($10.00), Bangers and Mash ($13.00) and Guiness French Onion Soup ($6.00) which was wonderful. The kids chicken fingers with fries was $6.00. Overall we left all very happy. I wish the main dining room was larger but we will definately return to Alaina's Ale House at 343 Kingstown Road in Richmond, RI.

Nice place. There was 4 of us & only one of us had been here before. It was clean & amazingly not too loud with background music!!! We could actually carry on a conversation . The menu selection has it all. Appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, full meals, pizza, calzones, seafood, etc... our server Jennifer B. Was awesome. Two of us had 1/2 Rack BBQ baby back ribs with awesome fries & tasty Cole slaw ($14.98) & Baked Scrod with fries($13.59). Coffee ($2.29) & a Ginger ale ($2.49).we arrived about 4pm on a Monday & when we left the place was pretty full with even a half dozen patrons at the bar. I might also add that there is a large selection of beer available. Too bad itâs about an hour from where we live - if it was closer weâd be visiting more often!

Spending a weekend in Warwick with some friends (excellent location right near Narraganset and Block Island Ferry) and decided to try out The Mews. Turned out to be a great choice. We walked from town area and entered through the closest door that led into a bar, you can eat there, but it was a little loud as we sent into the main restaurant to see if they had a table. Well let me tell you, this place is a warren of rooms and even with signs pointing toward the host station, I was turned around a few times. Just before I reached the host station, I passed the bottom of a flight of stairs that brought you to a separate Irish Pub. We were seated near the open kitchen that made the brick oven calzone and pizzas. There was an extensive wine list, craft / draft brew list and specialty cocktails to chose from and the menu was varied and ranged from standard pub fare, entrees, BBQ, pizzas and flat bread. My wife and I shared a nice salad and a special pizza (chicken and balsamic) it was delicious. Desert available, but I do not know how anyone would have room, unless they started with it. This is a great place for a casual meal and drinks with friends or family - open late so a late day back from Block Island fits perfectly

Have not been for at least a couple of years. Did not like the sound level inside... very loud with a metal ceiling. However last night was tolerable and I could hear the other couple sitting with us. I had the corn meal cod and it was tasty, not greasy as it is not fried. Very good slaw and reasonable fries - could have been crispier. Reasonable prices especially as we had drinks and some chips etc. with friends at my house first. Will return in less than 2 years this time.

Have been to Richard's Pub many times. It's always good food - basic and home made. Good seafood. Great burgers. Free popcorn at the bar. Lots of friendly folks. A real local favorite. On a Friday night, it's loud, but still a good time. A solid choice.

Have always shied away because of Bar crowd but the week nights are very pleasant. Food is very reasonable and pretty good; we had burgers and sandwiches which were all tasty, fries great and unlimited popcorn. Checked outside bar which is FABULOUS but only open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday for now. Went on a Friday night but way too crazy and loud for us and service super slow; stick to week nights for a more pleasant experience. Holly, our server, was efficient and LOTS of fun!!

Came here late in the evening after the July Fourth fireworks on our way home, we ended up being the only patrons in the whole place. The food and service were excellent, and the place had this certain vibe which really made the dining experience much more enjoyable.

Heard good things and wanted to check it out. Stopped in with my family for lunch today. Huge bar with tables around the perimeter. Pretty busy for a weekday. Great service and we all thought the food was really good! Impressed, I will definitely be back! Thanks
