The Wayfarer is a country pub and restaurant serving the freshest home cooked food in stylish surroundings. Our designers have created an amazing environment for you to relax in and enjoy Chef's homemade food prepared to the highest standards just like it
We've dined at the Wayfarer on a number of occasions but especially like visiting when it's a special occasion. Visited Saturday 19th October for pre birthday lunch with family members celebrating my sister's birthday. As always we weren't disappointed, we all four ordered a different main course and we were all well pleased with our meals. Great menu choice, extremely well presented, very professional attentive staff and nothing seemed too much trouble foⶠr them. We had the sharing sweet, which is apparently meant for two people, three shared it (fourth member doesnt do sweets) and we couldn't eat it all. I'd definitely recommend the sharing sweet, naughty but nice! I'd taken a birthday cake for my sister, which staff happily carried out to the table, they'd stuck the candles onto the cake and all the staff members who came to the table sang Happy birthday as they brought the cake to the table, which was a lovely touch. However, we were all far too full to eat the birthday cake. Nice venue, lovely food, great choice, friendly yet very professional staff definitely worth a visit. Might be a little more expensive than say a typical pub lunch but definitely worth paying that little extra.

Made the long journey to visit my brother and his wife who live in Penkridge. We visited the Star for lunch. The wife and I had fish, chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce, my brother had the steak baguette with Stilton and his wife had scampi. The food was very tasty and the service was fast and very friendly. The pub is very comfy and decorated in traditional country style with wooden beams. The landlord and his wife ( she is an excellent chef ) take great pride in the quality of food and beer they serve. Will certainly visit again when in the area.

Party of 8 for Sunday lunch(birthday celebration) been here many times, usually have good food & good service. Not this time. Took a long time for food to be served, one dish missing & when it finally arrived it was inedible. Not charged for it as a result. Skipped dessert as we had sat there long enough. Won't visit again, & won't recommend to friends as we normally do. Used to be a really good place for food & service, but not anymore.

We have eaten here several times, and the beer and food are always excellent. The home made pies are perfect. The beer garden is large and tranquil. We ate here a few days ago and the pale ale from the three tubs was fab. Friendly owners and dog friendly too

We had heard that there was a new chef and a new menu and were looking forward to a meal (we had often eaten here before). Well, the experience was just disappointing. Many of the menu options were unavailable, there were very few vegetarian choices or salads (and those that were on the menu were mostly not available), the foods we had previously enjoyed (e.g. Malaysian curry, vegetarian chilli or lasagne some time ago) were not on the menu and we had to wait much longer than usual for the meal to arrive. When it did, the salad with my fish consisted of just leaves and tomatoes (I had asked for no onion) whereas previously the salads were mixed and interesting. My husband's lemon chicken was underwhelming.and the chips were soft. I cook far better than this at home. Please provide interesting vegetarian options and good healthy salads and simple well cooked food. We do not all want to eat pies!

We would like to welcome you to the Fitzherbert Arms of Swynnerton. The restoration of the Fitzherbert Arms, our lovely village pub, was a joint venture between Lord Francis Stafford and pub entrepreneurs Mary Mclaughlin and Tim Bird who own a number of a
The Fitzherbert Arms was a cracking stop on a long journey for us. They have a decent alcohol free beer and they serve great food. Absolutely recommend the goats cheese croquettes and beef pie. Delicious.
