In Manhattan in 1965, there was no place where people could go out to meet friends and make new ones in an environment that was at once both relaxed and yet exciting. Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, "to meet Pan Am stewardesses." Sud
Three of us visited here on Thursday night of last week. It was just for a light dinner and drinks. I thought the place was OK...nice inside, everything tasted OK, although I only had a salad and a drink. Our server was very pleasant, although sometimes became hard to find later on. He also did something I've never seen before...he asked to take our tip from the table while we were still sitting there talking. Kind of strange. Still, he was OK, and the overall experience was about average.

Went Tuesday for lunch. Sat in back atrium area. Pleasant with lots of natural light. Also outside patio seating available in good weather. Server was very nice and efficient but not especially attentive and restaurant was not crowded. Hamburger was very good and waffle fries were excellent.

We have periodically visited and I always thought it was good. I especially like the Prime Rib available for Friday and Saturday dinner. I also like the Reuben and hot roast beef sandwich although generally it was bit expensive for lunch. It was also unfortunate that it was closed on Sunday. However, with the relocation of several law firms from Becker Farm Road to the other side of Livingston Avenue to the old Prudential campus apparently lunch time business declined so they are no longer open for lunch and now are open on Sunday. On this visit I had a steak sandwich and a chocolate martini (yum!) and my husband had a steak and regular martini. We will return.

We decided to have dinner at the Chiliâs in East Hanover because we were tired of the poor service at the Riverdale location. This visit turned out to be a pleasant experience. Our server Riley took our order and brought out our drinks in a timely manner. She also checked on us after all our food arrived and brought us drink refills after we asked. Overall, it was a good dinner.

I am enjoying my lunch which includes the 2 for $9.99 deal and their new drink of pomegranate Margarita. I selected the beer bread pretzels with beer cheese dip and steak quesadillas which were very good. The Margarita was mmmmm good. If you're near an Applebee's try the appetizers and bar snacks deals.

Recently our friends from South Carolina were in the area and wanted to eat at Thirsty Turtle. We all ate here together years ago before they moved down south. They both ordered Salmon dinners, my wife had a Pretzel Burger and I had the Portobello & Brie Burger. This place hasnât changed much accept perhaps the menu and how much more crowded it is for dinner.
