In Manhattan in 1965, there was no place where people could go out to meet friends and make new ones in an environment that was at once both relaxed and yet exciting. Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, "to meet Pan Am stewardesses." Sud
I usually go here with a few friends for drinks and apps for happy hour. I went here with a large party of 12 after my son's graduation. The service was horrible. I'm not sure if it was a staffing issue. But the quality of the food was unacceptable. Very disappointed.

I hadn't been to an El Torito for years. But today, on a whim, we stopped there for lunch. The old menu I was accustomed to was gone. Gone were the combo plates I enjoyed porking out on. I just wanted one of their old El Torito Tostadas. Sorry, not on the menu. But our server Esperanza (that means HOPE in English) said I could still get it. They would just make it up special for me. It might take a few more minutes because they would have to make up a "shell" for me, but they would be pleased to do it IF I was willing to wait a couple more minutes. What? Wait a couple minutes to have something prepared JUST for me? No problema! So I had a shredded meat Tostada made just for me. They wrote it up on the check as a Chicken Caesar Salad but so what! I had what I wanted and it was like the old days once again. And very good. Candidly the lettuce and sauce seasonings were better than I had remembered. My wife did have the actual Chicken Caesar Salad but with some Cilantro Dressing. She was VERY happy. My wife had a beer and I had a Margarita Liquada con Sal de Casa (Blended House Margarita with Salt on the Rim). Delicious and refreshing. The chips and salsa were good, but not as good as in "the old days". Including a 20% tip we were out the door for $49.My suggestion? If you don't see what you want on the menu, ASK !!! You may be surprised how they will jump thru hoops to satisfy your taste buds.

The restaurant has free shopping center parking. It is a single standing building. It has classic rock videos playing on some of the televisions and a few televisions show sporting events. The restaurant has indoor dining with a patio area. The service is great and the food is also great. There is full bar service if you want that. The grill closes around 10 p.m. but the bar stays open somewhat later.

Party of two seated immediately, order taken within two minutes and food served within 10 minutes. Our visit was definitely the best experience we have had at this Islands. The Longboarder hamburger and fries were cooked perfectly. The two chicken tacos and side of broccoli were also prepared exactly as they should be. The servers help each other out. Thank you, Islands for a great dining experience.

Stopped in on the most rainy night in February. A small wait for a party of 3 but not long. I was lucky they didn't tell me everyone in the party needed to be there because 2 of the party got stuck on the fwy and one ended up not showing. I ordered a bottle of wine and an appetizer with all kinds of choices off the menu. All were good and I could pick at it until the other person in my party arrived. I enjoyed the buffalo chicken the most. Potato skins are OK only because they are not my favorite. My server was very attentive even though I was solo for about an hour. Once we decided to "order" the server brought us a sample of the soup of the day, split pea. Not to our liking so we went with the potato cheese. Has lots of chunks potato for sure. Soup, the perfect choice for a rainy night. A very family friendly place for diner even with a full bar.
