The County is a gem of a pub, just away from the historic centre of Hexham â recently voted Britains favourite market town! We are the perfect place for a post-work cocktail, a business brunch or a private party with friends. With food served all day, fre
On entering this establishment you can tell it is well loved, the decoration and cleanliness is to be commended on. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and there is an excellent selection of drinks and food. We were not eating on this occasion but the food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious and empty plates were being taken back so that speaks for itself. We will come here to eat in the future.Thank you for taking the time to leave this lovely review. We look forward to you coming back and hopefully having a meal with us :)

My family and I stopped in, as we had been recommend this pub from a friend of ours. I can honestly say between the quality of the food and the service, we will be back very soon. A special mention goes to David (I think hes the manager), as he is genuinely interested in his customers and chatted to us. Thank Wellington, we will be back. Thanks Very much for the great review. It was lovely to chat to you and I hope you do visit us again soon. Please tell your friends about us too, spread the word. Thanks againDavid HurtGeneral manager

The pub sits amidst the wild, stunning countryside of Northumberland, adjacent to Hadrianâs Wall and close to the historic towns of Corbridge and Hexham. The pub offers fresh, local produce, roaring fires, and both bed and breakfast accommodation and camp

We called in for a late lunch and unfortunately the food was very average and not to their previous standards. We werer also charged incorrectly (overcharged) when we got home and I checked thewebsite prices for our meals. I doubt if we'll return despite our having had very satisfactory meals and serfvice on all previous visits. Good bye Duke

Called yesterday (bank holiday). Booked as assumed it would be busy. Although it wasnât heaving the poor young girls were run off their feet. They definitely dont have enough staff. We had to wait a while for our food but thatâs a good sign to me that itâs fresh, and it really was. Everything was delicious. We had some sharing boards, usually never enough to share but omg, we had to bring some home..there was loads and all lovely. Very good value for money. Iâd like to go back sometime for a proper meal. Well worth the trip up there. Well done to the two young girls (prob on min wage too) you kept the place running well. You deserve a rise!!

We are a traditional pub serving food with log burners and an outside patio area to be enjoyed during warmer weather, we are situated a village with some individual shops and some great walks, however we do not allow dogs in the pub or outside
On walking in my first thought was âthis is my kind of pubâ.Flagstone flooring, real fire at either end and wooden beams. I love the interior of this pub!! Could have stayed there all day!!My daughter had the kids meal with chicken nuggets and my husband a steak. He really enjoyed it. I had jacket potato with tuna and my only criticisms would be the amount of filling I got with the gigantic potato wasnât near enough. This seems to be a common thing in pubs!!! I suspect they make a healthy profit from £5.50 for a potato and a ice cream sized scoop of tuna! The tuna would have been dry however I asked for mayo which I mixed in which was not an issue. I enjoyed what I had but half of the potato was left as I canât just eat potato, Iâm not living through the famine!! I didnât like that the prices for soft drinks on the menu were not advertised. I find this incredibly shady, and we werenât given an itemised receipt after paying so I actually have no clue how much we paid for our drinks. I really do think this is shady dealings - please put the prices you are charging your customers on your menu. We would visit again on our next trip to Corbridge, and it looks like I will have to suffer the indignity of asking the prices of our drinks next time! Thanks for your feedback and delighted you like the ambiance of the pub, sorry to hear you didnât pick up your receipt to check but not a problem to post a one out if you get in touch. Hoping you will visit again next time visiting Corbridge. Many thanks Linda
