Now under new management, we provide you with a warm friendly modern bar where you can relax and enjoy a great homecooked meal and a refreshing drink.
Called in for Sunday lunch after a drive round the Lakes. Had one of the roasts but was rather disappointed with the meal. Wouldn't recommend. Visit further spoiled by squawking baby.

I was one of 10, who booked a meal for a family gathering one evening. Most have been here before, me included. Decent menu, something for everyone, caters for gluten free customers, and plenty of smaller portions for the elderly. Most had starters, which arrived in good time. The soup was very nice. Main meals arrived after about 30 mins, and everyone said they were very good, me included. Chips are real chips. A few did mention they were not as hot as they could have been, possibly because there were 10 of us. We were the last to leave... Service was very good, no complaints.

I had the most beautiful battered halloumi which was cooked to perfection. Nice change from the usual veggie offerings!Apple betty was really good too.My only fault, not about the food, was that the restaurant was cold on a cold, damp day. Would have been more comfortable a bit warmer.Thank you for your review for your recent visit to Brewers Fayre Cockermouth. Our aim is to serve up great memories for all of our guests. Its great to hear that you really enjoyed our hand battered halloumi. We will ensure your comments are shared with all of our team. Our last lunch of the holiday and we paid a visit to the Bush Inn. Having seen the menu board when we got here we were keen to try the food. Fish and Chips for the mother-in-law and a Cumberland Sharing Platter for the wife and I, washed down with a Jennings Bitter Shandy. What a fantastic way to end the holiday. The fish and chips looked lovely but the platter, OMG, what a dining treat. Cumberland sausages, chicken goujons, onion rings, three types of cheese, salad and bread, together with a side order of chips. Fantastic food, superb beer, in a traditional pub with friendly staff. What more can you ask for, value for money, most definitely. The Bush Inn is definitely somewhere you have to visit, I know we will be next time we're in the area.

Excellent wholesome generous portioned meals, served promptly by helpful friendly staff.
After a walk around the Western shore and the short diversion due to the imminent bridge repair we were glad of a cooling drink in the beer garden. The member of staff behind the bar was very pleasant and friendly and although food was not being served the bumper pack of salted peanuts kept us going until our evening meal.

We dined and drank here when staying overnight after our walk from Braithwaite to Buttermere on day 3 of 6 on the Inn Way. We enjoyed some very good ales and single malts, plus a very good meal in the more formal restaurant with a nice bottle of Rioja. All in all, a delightful experience.

A warm welcome to humans and dogs, great taps, stunning food and beautiful views! We aim to serve classic pub food with a twist that changes with the seasons, all food is made fresh and served to you in relaxing surroundings with great music to accompany.
We enjoyed a delicious evening meal here and spoilt ourselves with three courses. Falafels and potato skins to start, both generous portions so make sure you go hungry if youâre having three courses! We both had burgers which were great, served in a charcoal bun; Iâve never had that before, it looked really interesting. Finally we had pear & chocolate Eton mess which was amazing. Loved every mouthful. Fantastic service from the owner who takes care to speak to each table, really friendly.

Visited to meet up with friends, was glad they recommended this place. Nice cosy pub with good drinks selection. Food choice was good and the meal itself was great. Would definitely visit again.
