As far as Hayward goes, this place is a great option. Convenient downtown location. Food and beer were okay and not too pricey. Half sandwich and soup at lunch for $15. Pretty standard brew pub fare. Lots of space for larger parties and outdoor seating for those hot summer days.

Five adults ate here on October 5, 2017. I had their breakfast burrito. It was a very large portion and was very tasty. My wife had the meatball parm sandwich, which she raved about. I don't recall what the other members of our group had, but they're locals who eat here regularly.Jessica was our server. She was very friendly and played some trivia with us.This was a very enjoyable experience. When we travel back to this area, we'll definitely go back to JP's.

I stayed at the nearby Comfort Inn for three nights and stopped by here on my my first night. I was disappointed with the female bartender who worked until 6pm...she was lazy and couldn't hold a conversation to save her life. The evening/night bartender was great. She was a mid 50's bartender who was GREAT at her job. She was on the spot with service and very nice. She was twice the server of her younger counterpart. No matter how good the service might be in the evening...I got the Hee Bee's and the Gee Bee's sitting at the bar. I felt like I was battling Mothera. I was disgusted to find a fruit fly in my glass. However I found this bar to be filled with fruit flies. Rum and Cokes were $5.00 each
