Reviews on Pub food in Castro, Los Lagos Region, Chile. A rainbow assortment of palafitos (wooden houses on stilts) are the unofficial calling card of Castro, the capital city of Chiloé Island. Once home to thousands of farmers and a target for European pirates, Castro was established in the 16th century and is Chilé’s third-oldest city. Highights here are the astonishing wooden church, an impressive contemporary art museum and the charming wharf in the Gamboa district.

Thursday nights are quiet during the dark and cold Chilote winter, so finding something good, open or crowded ain't easy. I had seen Almud "bar" before and didn't enter, yesterday we did, and it was good. I had something simple, just some freshly made pineapple juice and some great pizza. The surprise? Good and friendly service and great food. Instead of one big pizza I got four small ones, full of flavour, different types of chillies, chilli preserve, cheese and avocado! So good. I'm really looking forward to the massive piscolas they offer and I AM going back for some more pizza!!!Why did I put "bar", becaise it is a restaurant and by law you have to be eating something warm if drinking, and cops are quite strict about it!! Great discovery!
Craft beers, national and imported. Hamburgers and tables.
Best spot in town for a beer I reckon. They have a good range of local and imported beers on tap and by the bottle. Good service, nice atmosphere buena onda!

Casa Cervecera artesanal Chilota, a 5 min del centro de la ciudad a pasos de Iglesia patrimonio de Nercón.
It is great when new options appear. It is a good restaurant, a great place for beer lovers. Good service, good beers too. We first tried all the varieties they had, quite a lot and quite good, and then ordered. I liked the place, I did miss some alcoholic alternatives, only beer is served. And even though everybody else disagreed, I thought the burgers weren´t great, but they were good and much better than other burgers I´ve had in Chiloe- There are some pretty good looking sandwiches on the menu, I´ll probably go back.

Didn't come here wanting or expecting much but truly, not worth considering for food. Massive portions do not make up for the complete lack of flavour. They had run out/ couldn't do Pizzas but a burger the size of a dinner plate was thrown down. Split in half, and then into quarters, my friend and I could barely even conceive finishing it. It was soooo big. Cheap, but maybe should should cut down on the size and focus on some taste. Grumpy service too. Settle for another place if you want to have food with a few beers. #notevendrunk
