Ok been here before usually lunch time but thought we would try evening.food as usual very good especially the home made steak and ale pie. prices about average. plenty of room around tables not jammed in like some establishments.can be a bit noisy from drinkers in ajoining bar where the waitress seemed to like spending her time as had to wait a while to receive her attention. On the whole it was ok but waiting staff need to be a bit more attentive.

Visited with my partner on a Wednesday evening. We were the only people eating and sat on a table in the window. The waitress/barmaid was friendly and took our orders quickly. I had Cajun chicken burger and my partner choose ham egg and chips. Both arrived in good time and were tasty and well cooked. We both went for rhubarb crumble and custard for dessert which was lovely. This place appears to provide good pub food, well cooked and tasty. For us it was a 50mile round trip so we may not return but I'm glad we tried it.

.....a very tired venue, with yellow and black tape holding down the filthy carpet in several areas........smelly grubby toilets........staff chewing gum, open mouthed........then this is the place for you. No matter how friendly the staff or how good the food, Vintage Inns can't expect to attract discerning customers back to this forgotten venue.Robert C, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had at our location. Thank you for leaving feedback. Please reach out to us at 01376 551560 so we may identify ways to improve your experience.Kind regardsFowlers Farm

Always feel welcome at this Pub. So friendly and homely, if your coming for a meal or just for drinks. Mick the Landlord is a lovely calm and friendly face. Nothing too much to ask for from the staff.

This time, just my wife and I had lunch at the Cross Keys. If anything, our experience was even better than our last visit. Friendly staff, a thoroughly decent house red, a superb meal, hot, generous with immaculate presentation and delicious. An extremely pleasant pub with great atmosphere. Certainly my favourite place to put on the nosebag!

The Horse & Groom is a Freehouse Public house with a 50 cover Restaurant and 30 Cover Bar Area. It is set in the quiet North Essex Village of Cornish Hall End, Our nearest town is Haverhill Suffolk approx 9 miles from us, neighbouring villages are Stambou
This pub is the best! We hired the garden and Debbie provided a buffet for my daughter's 3rd Birthday and it was just perfect. Custom buffet was delicious and very plentiful, and reasonably priced. The hosts could not have been more helpful and accommodating, we were very well looked after. Great communication through the planning process, just lovely people. The garden is great for kids and we hired a bouncy castle. I've also been on pie and pint night and really enjoyed the food. The faulty towers night tonight looked a lot of fun too.

We recomended to the dolphin by the manager of the local gun shop, called in on the off chance. We was made very welcome by the lady that served us couldn't do enough to please us. very large portions i recomend having the praw and crayfish cocktail with homemade bread and butter, and also my wifes starter fried bri and cranberry. For mains i will aslo recommend steak and kidney pie with mash and vegtables my wife had liver and bacon with mash and vegtabels witch were very large portions . For dessert i recommend having blackberry and apple crumble with custard which homemade and superb. The chef came out and made sure everything was to satifaction couldn't fault the service or the food. we will go back to another meal to see if it is just as good as the last one the trouble is there is to many options. we are going to try once a week to just go through the menu .

The Vine has new leaseholders following the departure of Steve and Tanya Mann. This was our first visit since the change. It was a Saturday night, the bar was empty, the food was below average pub grub and neither of the two new leaseholders even made an appearance. Very disappointing. What are the new guys thinking, what is their plan for running a successful village pub ? Whatever it is it was not evident from our visit. This has gone from a great place to eat with a busy bar, to an empty bar with poor food. unless something changes this isn't going to last.Dear Sir, we are sorry that your visit to The Vine wasnât to your liking. The chefs that are here are actually the same as when Stephen and Tanya were here. Can I ask what food you had and what was the problem with it. As we werenât available you were more than welcome to speak to our staff and they would have sorted this out for you. Yes it was a quiet evening which happens from time to time and also there was quiz in the town hall which a lot of the village attended. Kind regards Jacque and Gerard The Vine

Traditional characterful oak beamed tudor pub and restaurant set in the beautiful village of Gosfield.
Called in for a quick lunchtime snack. Revamped restaurant offers delightful surroundings. Shared three small plates between the two of us which was exactly what we were after. Tempura prawns, Brie and mango filo parcels and firecracker chicken were all delicious. Fantastic staff added to the whole experience. Weâll be back.

This was our first visit and it was really good. Motherâs Day meant we had to wait a little while for our table but it was worth it. Roasts were enormous with veg served separately and the Beef Bourguinon was fabulous so tender and tasty. I felt really full, but managed to squeeze in a baguette bread pudding with cranberries and creamy custard, also the apple pie looked really good again with creamy custard. The young man who looked after us couldnât do enough for us and altogether it was a great experience. As I said first visit but not the last.Hello Mo H! Thank you for finding time to write this review. Motherâs Day was extremely busy for us and we tried our best to make our customers happy. We are glad you would like to visit our restaurant again and we are looking forward to cooking for you!
