The Kester is full of locals and has a traditional look and feel - this is no fake gastropub! The food is tasty, well priced and cooked well. They have a good cellar and the beer is local; the wine is impressive value for money too.All in all, a good village pub!

A friendly pub serving traditional food and well kept real ales. Dog, children, cyclist and walker friendly, with outside patio and garden area and now a NEW childrens play area. Fantastic views of Haytor on Dartmoor from the bar and newly refurbished bar
I cannot remember the last time I ate somewhere that dished up huge portions like this. Food is amazing, as were the staff. Will definitely be going back.

Coming into Lustleigh is a nightmare from the wrong direction. Satnav accuracy is dubious. In The Cleave we had a warm welcome, I assume from the owner/landlord and his wife.Varied menu and decent quality. Prices very reasonable and good wine and beers.Would definitely recommend making the effort.

My wife and I had visited Cromwell Arms back in August so we decided to book it for a family wake on Monday 28th and we all ( 10 adults, 1 child) thoroughly enjoyed our meals and sandwiches. The service throughout was attentive and helpful and very glad that we had arranged booking here.

The Carpenters arms is under new management. We are a traditional country pub serving a Fantastic selection of local brewed cask ales direct from the barrel and a great range of draught beers, wines , spirits and soft drinks. Our home cooked traditional p
A pub that is used by locals and visitors alike is usually good and the Carpenters Arms is no exception. There is a really nice friendly atmosphere. The beer is good. The food is good , well priced and very popular. Biscuits for the dog too. A good find Our priority is to look after our locals. In the dark cold months they keep us busy. Visitors are a bonus for us and we treat them with the same kindness and respect we give our locals. Thank you for 5 stars

The Palk Arms, A Free House Pub set high above the Teign Valley and has wonderful panoramic views over the rolling hills and beautiful countryside.
Me and my family fancied eating out tonight and decided to go somewhere different. So we hopped onto trip advisor and found the Palk Arms. Seeing the last two reviews and how one sided they were we were unsure about what to think, however we scrolled down and saw further reviews which presented the pub in a positive way, therefore we came up to give it a go.We were greeted with an attentive bar maid, who instantly showed us to our table and showed us the menu (which is written on slates) It was so busy, which was surprising for a tuesday night, as most places are dead in the week. The menu has a great variety and offers something for everyone- which was good in our case as my daughter is quite fussy! Our table had a Thai chicken curry, the haddock fishcakes and our two children had the chicken nuggets which are served with chips and beans. The food was amazing, proper pub grub! With a good price and a very good portion size, you walk away feeling full. Unfortunately we were too stuffed for desserts, however the desserts that were served to tables next to us looked gorgeous, and seemed to be enjoyed. All in all the whole experience was great and we will be reccommending this place to all of our friends and family! We will continue to show support to this pub, as you are made to feel so welcome. Fair play to the Landlord and Landlady as they seem to have a great pub with great locals.

We were staying in a nearby hotel and were out for a walk with the dog. We stopped in here for a drink. There is a restaurant and bar both of which looked nice and inviting. If we were here for longer we would definitely give the food a try. As it was we had some drinks and had a pleasant time sitting in the beer garden across the road. A nice girl came out and gave the dog a treat but didnât seem interested in enforcing their stated âdogs on leadsâ policy. There were a couple of wee yappie mongrels running loose much to everyoneâ annoyance but no one seemed to care. The drinks were on the pricey side which might explain why it was quiet on an otherwise busy with people, warm, sunny Saturday afternoon. Thanks for the review. Glad you stopped by and were able to enjoy our lovely garden on what has lately been a rare sunny afternoon. We do ask for dogs to be kept on leads in the garden and our drinks are very fairly priced we believe for location & quality. We hope you will stop by again if you are in the area.
