Family Owned Freehouse serving homemade fresh food with a good selection of wines, beers and a large selection of malt whiskys. Groups, Children and dogs welcome
I usually recommend this place to people but today was disappointed. 10 of us were eating. Mixed reviews by everyone. Carvery - after the meat was placed on my plate, i had to wait quite a while for the veg to be replenished. Could not eat the ham, was way to salty. Others complained the gravy was watery, roasties and parsnips were dry. Dessert - apple crumble came with half a scoop of ice cream, by the time it was returned with more ice cream, around 10mins later, obviously the crumble was cold. There was around 20mins from when the first pudding was brought out, to when the last came. I will return, as iâm hoping today was just a blip!! It was busy there. Pizzas are awesome on their pizza night!!Yes it was busy on sunday but as a small family run buisness we always want to ensure that our customers enjoy their visit and are not disappointed. we always endevour to improve so thankyou for the feedback and hopefully you will not be disappointed next time!ThanksJohn and Louise

Bar & Diner located just a few minutes walk away from the Welsh Mountain Railway and Lake Padarn. Good food served daily Quality lagers and ales Free WiFi
Decided to have dinner here after our snowdon climb. Brilliant home made food, and so comforting after a long cold walk. Also serve proper Ale and a nice variety of Gin! Staff were very friendly, service was great! Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I've visited this pub twice over the last couple of years when camping in Wales the last time being in August 2019. What a gem. The food is fantastic, massive portions and a wide selection including a specials board. No ping meals all home cooked. Staff extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend.

We arrived on time and although shown to our table immediately there was a distinct lack of friendliness in the welcome. The waitress who took our order seemed to be new and lacked confidence. The place was very quiet but service relatively slow. While the food was âokâ the experience was disappointing. The place has been given a facelift and was pleasant but spoilt by the cheap plastic flowers on every table. A word of advice- remove them! If you canât get real ones it would be better without any at allOverall I felt that more attention needs to be given to customer service - a welcome smile, friendly comments, a cheery goodbye (no-one was anywhere to be seen as we left) - would all cost nothing but would transform a cold hearted experience into a place I would want to return to. As it is I feel reluctant to recommend it.We were disappointed to hear of your experience with us, as we have always prided ourselves on offering each of our customers a warm inviting establishment with a friendly staff. It seems very unfortunate that you did not enjoy your time with us. However we would like to thank you for your feedback, and hope that you do decide to return and give us another chance. Thank you.

A Traditional, warm and cosy pub with fantastic views of The Menai Straits. Serving a variety of local ales as well as all your favourite beverages. Extensive homemade food menu including Welsh lamb henry and mussels sourced from The Menai Straits. Served
Came here as it was advertised as dog friendly and they are hard to come by these days. Place has a rustic look a bit tired but in-keeping with its atmosphere and style. Lovely views over Bangor marina. Staff very friendly nothing too much trouble, made fuss of our attention seeking french bulldog Alfie. Prices very reasonable and the meals were of better than average pub grub quality. We would come here again and recommend. Hi there, thank you for your lovely review! We're proud to welcome our canine friends into the establishment- Alfie was certainly worthy of the fuss! I'm glad you had an enjoyable dining experience, and look forward to welcoming you back. Best wishes!

For a relaxed gathering of friends, this place is perfect. It is no frills, very much a place for hikers, climbers and outdoor types. But the thing that draws locals is not the accommodation but the food - and that food is PIZZA ! There are a wide range available, with order forms and pencils on the table. Choose your base, add your extra's and sides and then take to the bar and order, pay and return with your drink (guest ales available). The only downside, if in a large group (i.e. 4 or more) the pizza's, as they are cooked individually, come out in pairs. So if you all want to start eating at the same time, it's not going to work - but on the up side your pizza will be fresh and hot straight from the oven.Well worth a visit - friendly local Welsh speaking staff - parking limited, but walkable from Llanberis is staying locally.
We went her for a couple of drinks, the pub is used by the local for hand pulled beers. The pub is like a step back in time from the 70's, with a full size snooker table, the landlord behind the bar was very nice as were the locals. the drinks are cheap and the beer garden is next to the river. We would definitely could back for a drink.
I called in here whilst walking the Snowdonia Way and asked about food. The landlord said he didn't do food.. I asked if there was anywhere local that did, and he said no, nowhere in Bethesda did food on a Tuesday evening except the takeaway kebab place, almost opposite.A few yards further along the road I found Y Llangollen, a quite excellent restaurant (qv). The landlord must have been perfectly well aware of its existence but chose to pretend it wasn't there.

A beautiful new restaurant serving freshly home cooked food from our beer battered haddock to our chef`s own ogwen burger we also have a variety of fine wines and ales
We visited Y Llangollen for Sunday lunch this weekend and couldn't have been happier. The food was lovely, clearly very fresh, and a very reasonable price. Service was quick and friendly! Exactly what we needed after our Sunday afternoon walk, would definitely visit here again if we were in the area.
