Reviews on Pub food in Belmont, North Carolina, United States. Belmont is a small suburban city in Gaston County, North Carolina, United States, located about 15 miles (24 km) west of uptown Charlotte and 9 miles (14 km) east of Gastonia. The population was 10,076 at the 2010 census. Once known as Garibaldi Station, the name change for Belmont is disputed. Some say it was named for a prominent New York banker - August Belmont. Others contend the Pope ordered the abbot of the monastery to change the name since he would not tolerate an abbey in a place that bore the Garibaldi name. The abbot could see Crowder's mountain from the property and named the town Belmont - "beautiful mountain". Belmont is home to Belmont Abbey College.

The hostess when we went to get a table need serious help. They did not have a handle on the restaurant. Told us there was a 30 minute wait. Wanted to text us when table was ready but told them we didn't have our phones as they were in lockers. They said "then just hang around" however they never called our name. I checked back in about 15 minutes later and they said our table was ready yet never called a single name while we waited. The restaurant had at least 40 % of the tables empty with a huge amount of people waiting to be sat. The servers were even complaining that they had several open tables and no one to wait on.....Food was average and very quick to come out of the kitchen. Our server was friendly and efficient.Get organized on the front end at the hostess area and you will have it made...

We ate at the River's Edge while enjoying a day at The Whitewater Center. There were plenty of choices including vegetarian options. We had a variety including a burger, BLT,and a Southwest bowl. My husband was supposed to have a Carolina Burger but was brought something entirely different. He was hungry so he ate it. Our waitress was friendly but could truly didn't have her act together. Other staff members were more attentive and she seemed to be two steps behind (drink refills, getting the check). They do not allow outside food at the center....maybe keep it at the car.....or be prepared to part with about 13 dollars for a burger with side.

Very nice server with a good number of sandwich and salad options but few entrees. The chicken breast was very small and over cooked, my wife had the prime rib which was also over cooked(she requested it med-rare) and tough with far too much oregano in the spice rub. The side baked potato was over baked but the sweet potato fries were under done. Cocktails and food were reasonably priced with a comfortable, quiet ambiance.

Enjoyed a nice family lunch here. Place was a bit dark with minimal lighting& dark wood walls & floors. Good choices on the menu- grilled salmon with honey mustard sauce & choice of 2 sides! VERY nicely prepared. Others at our table chose create your own salads with choice of 7 items- all were delightful. Child ordered Mac n cheese- looked nice but tasted a bit gritty. Also ordered chicken fingers and sweet potato waffle fries & that was all good. Nice service at tables or booths. Reasonably priced.
A friend suggested we go for dinner. An interesting menu, bagel sandwiches, salads and much more. Notable mike donuts on demand. Was too late in evening for donuts, but we will go backCute back yard dining Suggest you go, eat and tell your friends. Always nice to go to a relatively new start up

We have been here a number of times, at first after opening the service was slow, food pretty good. My husband loves this place, so we continue to give it chances, now the salads are okay, burgers way over cooked, Fried chicken salty, soup way too salty, flat breads overcooked...After several months service is still very slow. Even when not busy. They have a bartender who is exceedingly unpleasant. They have a wonderful venue and interesting menu, really need to be managed much better.

A family friendly place that serves tacos, salads, sandwiches, burritos along with cold draft beer and a great selection of craft beers togo!
We recently enjoyed three different sandwiches for dinner here: a quesadilla, a Crunchy Gringo, and a hot ham and cheese. We shared an order of chips and salsa as an appetizer. All were very good, made to order food. If you are looking for a fancy place, this is not it. You order st the counter, pay, and your food is delivered to you. You procure your own alcoholic or non alcoholic beverage. If you are looking for a good, hot sandwich, youâll be happy here. Prices are in line with other local establishments. Owners are friendly and generally onsite. Weâve enjoyed repeated meals here.

Good drinking bar, food is decent, and the owners are always nice to us. I especially like NFL football on Sunday, where there are fans from every team there.

We stopped here twice on our recent Belmont trip to have a casual dinner and enjoy watching the NCAA basketball games. The food and service were very good, even though the pub was very crowded both times. Food and drink are typical for a pub...burgers, wings, sandwiches, etc. Everything we had was good. Beer selection and recommedations were very good. We were with a large group one of the times, and they made every effort to seat us together without a long wait. This is a fun place to go, and the people who work here couldn't be nicer!

They have an unbelievable selection of local draft beers. For a pub, the food was very good. We thought the Baja Shrimp Wrap was excellent -- well prepared and generous serving. The service was very quick and friendly. It is very loud, but, again, it is a pub. Also being a pub, they served late which met our need as we were there after a baseball game. Easy to find on Main Street.
