Living in Upton Park might feel a million miles away from the trendy east end locals of Dalston and Hackney Wick..... But meet the Red Lion High Street South, great ambience, great staff Alesandro was a great bar tender along with the great girls.Music was a mix of modern classics, very chilled and relaxed night. Highly recommended if you want to feel like in the trendy east end and actually in upton park.

You'll always find a warm welcome at O'Neill's in Ilford. Ours is a place where you're free to go with the flow. Where great food and drink is always served with a smile. And where, no matter whether you're a regular or a newcomer, our friendly team will
I knew I would be at O'Neills in Ilford, a sit's my friends favourite eatery when he's at work so checked their online menus. According to that they offer 6 different vegan meals so I expected to be ok whilst he had his favourite choice, macaroni & cheese. The vegan options on their website shows the following; 1. no-chick cauliflower bites2. vegan Romana Pizza 3. vegan Maghertita pizza4. vegan veggie melt panini5. butternut squash & quinoa jerk curry 6. chocolate orange torte This is all viewable at the O'Neills website 12.30 on a Tuesday none of the above was available, nor was what my guest wanted macaroni cheese a non vegan version so he had to have scampi and chips instead .I was scrambling about for anything, even the garlic bread wasn't vegan so I have a chocolate dessert with raspberry centre which I hope was vegan, though they should have just popped to Iceland for the No Bull melt in middle chocolate sponges which are much nicer. To say it was a disappointment was an understatement especially as my previous O'Neills review was so favourable, but to have nothing to offer a vegan, when you're a pub that serves food is just not good enough. The scampi meal, my dessert and Old Mout cider came to £10.73 this price was 40% off as I had a voucher, plus I got my friends Perroni beer for free with a second voucher. The manager and chef were nice enough, though he admitted not updating the website which is basic in any business even franchises. The lack of food both vegan and non-vegan was unacceptable and in this day and age and shouldn't happen.I can't recommend it however convenient and nice it is to sit outside it is.They may be better off not serving food at all and just offering crisps and snacks as to show online options that you don't carry is misleading and annoying.Hi Natasha_j_soliar, we regret to hear that you are displeased with your recent experience with us. Our manager would really like to speak with you more regarding this matter. Please reach out to us at 020 8514 6343. We look forward to hearing from you.
What to do on a hot afternoon in London? Take the air-conditioned district line to Barking, turn left on leaving the station, and you will see two pubs with dog-inspired names. Barking, right? The Spotted Dog is the smaller of the two, and the second one you will see. As you walk in to what appears to be a closed pub, you see to your amazement an interior barely altered by time. Amazing barrels behind the bar, signs tempting you to try the port and sherry "from the wood", and an old railway sign which must have been retrieved the last time the station was updated. A lovely touch is the Leyton Orient scarf displayed high up beneath the clock, just in case you were in any doubt which team the customers support. The ceilings are high, making this a cool place to linger when the heat is on. Or you could sit at a table outside if you prefer. The landlord has a friendly smile, the customers chat, the music is not too loud ("Nothing Breaks Like a Heart") but in the Ladies one door does not close because it is too large.

Hop Stuff is blessed with a growing network of Brewery Taprooms. Each is simply called 'Taproom' with the postcode prefix, eg. Taproom SE18 is the Woolwich Arsenal original. Each of these spots is laid out to make navigating craft beer a little easier, an
I was exiled to the Royal Arsenal Riverside about a year ago. Now, I had been coming to the farmers market for years and it was originally in a building by the Taproom. Now it's been relocated to Artillery Square the taproom is still there. The recent renovation works has created a clean vibrant gardened square outside. So, as it was a nice Saturday we decided beer and piazza for lunch. I frequent the beer part frequently and was always amazed at the piazza's coming out of the kitchen So toady we tried them. First things first beer. There is always a great selection of beers on tap, and the staff are happy to offer a tasting if you are unfamiliar. The selection of piazza's is excellent. All dietary tastes catered for. I went off piste a little. A red pepper pesto with globe artichoke and lemon zest. Superb. Jo, a Chorizo. again superb. As a well known celebrity chef says. Use good ingredients and keep it simple. It works. Can see me frequenting the Taproom more, and they aven offer a take out service.

Coming from Australia to Excel for a conference I was looking around for a venue for a casual get together for a group of around 30 genealogists. After contacting the Custom House online I was able to secure a booking for our mob. The communication was swift and friendly. I arrived on the evening in question to find a lovely, private corner had been reserved. Thank you to the staff for their consideration and service. Although the lines for bar and food service were long at time the members of our group agreed that the venue was perfect and the food was decent and reasonably priced. So impressed were we that a dozen of our group returned on a subsequent evening without a booking. Thankfully we were early so were able to grab some table before the crowd from the Comic Con event at Excel arrived.I'd definitely recommend this place which is right by a DLR station for a casual event for people attending events at Excel.Dear GeniAus,Thank you very much for your review,I am Happy that you had a good time and very pleased that you even came back to us the day after,Comic Con is one of our busiest weekend indeed,I would be happy to arrange more bookings for your next genealogist get together,
