Reviews on Pub food in Bar Harbor, Maine, United States. Mansions and majestic hotels serve as reminders of Bar Harbor’s past (in the 19th century, it was a favorite vacation spot of society’s upper crust). Today, visitors kayak, explore Acadia National Park, go bird- or whale-watching, and enjoy salty sea air and sandy beaches.

I had seen the sign when walking up and down Main St. in Bar Harbor. I also read the reviews about it, but we just had to stop in. We stopped in about 4pm and it wasn't that busy. Patrick was our bar tender. Very friendly and great conversationalist. We also were among great company with so many locals or visitors coming in and needing to sit back relax and just have a drink. They had cocktails on the menu and then a list of all the local Maine Beer, which we absolutely loved. We were provided some popcorn to snack on during that time. Although small, I really loved this hot spot. I could tell it is well visited among the locals. So the next time you stop in the area check out this place. Sit back and relax and just enjoy.

Fun, casual restaurant & bar on Main St. Bar Harbor, ME
Looking for anything but lobster in Bar Harbor is sometimes challenging, but we found meals here that did the trick. This is a large restaurant with outdoor upstairs eating when the weather is nice. It was a chilly evening, so our only choice was inside, which was fine. We were seated at a booth under a light that flickered erratically. Once moved to another area, we settled it.I just had a cup of chili and it was all I needed and very tasty. My husband was happy to find a steak salad which hit his desire for something green. My rum punch was just ok. I think the alcohol for it and my husbandâs Bulleit sour weâre all in his drink.

Tap & Barrel Tavern is a sports themed local bar, located in the heart of Bar Harbor. Newly remolded with lots of tvs, sports memorabilia, and local wood tables. Great pub food, only Maine craft drafts, and full bar. Come have a drink with the locals!
This is the place that replaced the little Irish bar, which has moved to a larger location. We stopped in recently for a pre-dinner libation, It's a great little space, not crowded at 5:00, and we enjoyed chatting with the owner. I would say that $13 is more than I'd like to pay for a 2-oz shot of Basil Hayden, but I imagine rent's not cheap. We will be back, as soon as tonight!

The Dog and Pony Tavern is a unique dining and drinking spot that is hidden in a cluster of trees off the beaten path in Bar Harbor. Those who are adventurous enough to find it will enjoy cheap but delicious cocktails and meals in the "treehouse" beer gar
There isn't much nightlife in Bar Harbor but this place was busy and super fun! They have tons of games both outside and inside. They even have a wii for games inside the bar. The outside porch is very cool, with a huge tree coming through the center. Lots of pretty lights- I loved the atmosphere! We went both nights we were there. The bar food is delicious and the drinks were made well. Had the lobster mac and cheese one night and while the lobster was fresh and delicious, the pasta/cheese combo was a bit eh. However it came with fresh garlic bread so that was a plus!

Great place to have dinner in a quiet but casual atmosphere. The food was excellent and I highly recommend the steamers and the hummus.

Was recommended by a friend - and was SO worth the visit! A small pub...with a great array of beers and imaginative cocktails. The Smoked Old Fashioned was amazing....highly recommend! Reasonably priced too, considering the time and quality going into each cocktail. We loved it!

We went out on a Sunday evening looking at recommended restaurants only to be told by staff that there was a 45 minute wait. We chanced upon Paddy's, which although busy still had tables. Greeted by very friendly staff. Food was lovely. the whole experience was most enjoyable.

We wanted a casual dinner on our first night in Bar Harbor. Learyâs Landing was a great choice. The service was almost too quick! The food was excellent and big servings. We had fish & chips and shepherdâs pie, and we split a Caesar salad. Everything was very good. Excellent beer selection and creative cocktail list. Definitely worth a visit.

The Black Friar Inn and Pub is a hidden gem; once you find it we guarantee you will be back! Our three story building is mostly constructed from materials salvaged from the mansions that burned in the great fire of 1947. In season, our highly rated restau
Arrived on a Monday evening at 6:30 PM. No one at the entrance,we proceeded into a room where 4 people were sitting. They told us they were waiting to be seated. We waited as well, for 10 minutes. Another couple had also joined the wait. Finally a woman came out and stared at us. One of the women from the first group said âwe are a party of fourâ. The response? The woman with the pub said âI understand that. Iâm trying to figure out how many people we have hereâ and stormed out. Very rude. My wife and I looked at each other and decided they neither wanted nor deserved our business. We chose this place based on TripAdvisor, so I thought it important to know what the service is like. Laughably bad. Literally angry with customers because they were waiting to be seated.Hello SJG1956,I am sorry you did not have a good experience entering the Friar! We do try to greet everyone who comes in and the party of 4 who were waiting on the couch were greeted by one of our employees and told we would be getting a table for them shortly. When another employee exited the kitchen and was delivering food to a table they were blocked by you and was demanded "how long is the wait!" The woman responded "I understand you are waiting but when we figure out who and how many we have first you we will know more, I need to deliver this food. " and she delivered the food she was holding to the appropriate table. She certainly did not storm out, she was just trying to deliver hot food to a table. When the food was dropped off she returned to the lounge to assess who and how many were waiting, you had already left. We have no control over how busy we become and at what time during the dinner service, you did come in when at the height of the rush and since we only have 12 tables and 7 are for parties of two there can be a wait. Patience and understanding are always appreciated. Hopefully you will give our food a try in the future :)
