The Pheasant is a family run free house owned by the Jones family since 2005. We aim to provide great locally sourced food in a friendly and relaxed environment. We also offer a great range of real ales, wines, lagers and spirits. Situated in the pretty s
Been visiting family over the weekend and as a couple called around 7.30pm for dinner. We hadnât booked but weâre quickly shown to a table. Good choice of menu and service was excellent. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. We enjoyed it so much we went again the next day with our son and 2 children. Very busy but we managed to get a table.Definitely recommend this place and good parking on the car park.

The Commodore Inn is probably the oldest hostelry in Grange over Sands, having been built during the 1820's. It has been frequented over the years by many a weary traveller seeking Rest, Good Food, a Tipple and Entertainment.... Almost 200 years on and no
When you see something on the menu described as whale and chips, the offering is often a bit of a let down. However, whilst not of leviathan proportions the fish overhung the large plate on both sides and would have put up one hell of a fight if caught on a line. The batter was crispy and the chips were decent. Can't speak for the rest of the menu which looked like typical pub grub but the fish had us hooked.

Village pub with four en suite letting rooms. Owned and run by Becky and Ash Dewar since 2013. Four individual en suite letting rooms. Specialising in local ales and simple fresh food.
Found this place when it first opened with the current owners years ago and loved it.......Love it even more now. Food quality was great, we had the Chicken, avocado and tomato salsa burger with chips - it was perfect... local artisan roll really made it!..... worth every penny. Great to see them doing so well, place goes from strength to strength. The food on other tables looked equally delicious. The owner still very friendly. Loos were immaculate. Highly recommended..... such a shame we live a couple of hundred miles away now or we would be here more often.

We stopped for lunch after a morning stroll. The Inn has undergone a complete transformation since our last visit. We were warmly welcomed and sat outside in the October sunshine. Inside, there is a dining room and very comfortable bar area.We had lunch off the fixed price menu. Excellent value. The food is pub style but with a twist and elevated to restaurant standard. Excellent fish and chips and chicken as main dishes. Prompt and friendly service. Deserves to do well. There is a nice garden area and plenty of room for parking.Dear Stephen, Thank you for your review of The New Inn. We're glad that you enjoyed some autumnal sunshine in our garden - it's a great place to relax with food and drinks. We're also happy you enjoyed the food and service; hopefully next time you may be able to stay in one of our new boutique rooms! We look forward to seeing you againWarm regardsLaura

We were on a cycle tour around the Trough of Bowland and made a detour for the coast towards Arnside. We stopped here for lunch as it looked nice and there were tables outside in the sunshine.Just enough space for our four bikes outside. You need to order at the bar and we found the relatively young team really friendly and helpfulBroad menu including all of the traditional pub grub main courses as well as starters and sandwiches. Two of the guys opted for burgers which looked great but apparently lacked taste. My chicken and bacon melt sandwich was really tasty.Itâs a busy little village with lots going on and plenty of shops around. We got our bidons filled too which is always a bonus!Decent place.Thank you for taking the time to comment, so glad you found our team helpful and enjoyed the sandwich. Apologies the burger was not up to scratch and we will look into this. Thanks once again for the comment and hopefully see you again. The Royal Team

A traditional village inn offering award-winning real ales, a good selection of wines and keg beers. The reputation of the food is well known and caters for most tastes.
We ate here with friends during a really busy week for the pub. They happily fitted us in even though we booked late. The service was impeccable. Polite and attentive but not too fussy. The food was outstanding. We only live locally and will definitely be back again. Can highly recommend a visit!

The Ship Inn is located on the B5282 in between Milnthorpe and Arnside, with spectacular views over the Kent estuary. On clear days you can savour the views of the Lake District fells and valleys of the Langdales and Coniston Old Man from the Ship Inn.
six of us called in for drinks only, a great little place, good car parking, great views with outside seating. Excellent selection decent beers too. Service good even though it was very busy, Staff really friendly and helpful. A cosy place too.

Fantastic location in the Village of Arnside on the banks of the Kent Estuary with stunning views and sunsets across the Lakeland Hills. We have a large external seating area, ideal for watching the famous "Bore" and looking over the fells. Traditional Bri
Having previously given The Albion 5 stars I was looking forward to our lunch there. Perhaps I expected too much but I found the food rather disappointing. The mushroom risotto was bland and reminded me of porridge. There was a distinct lack of mushrooms and, even after adding salt, it lacked seasoning. The rustic chips were nicely cooked but the 'fries' were hardly cooked at all. Even after returning them we were given another serving that were only marginally better.Great shame but hope this was just a one off as the pub has pleasant staff and a nice atmosphere - and stunning views of the estuary.
