We visited here yesterday for lunch, and what a huge disappointment, and total waste of money. Not many people dining, and not a busy bar,so no excuses for poor abrupt service, from the guy serving. We ate in the bar,and sat at an unlaid table,[ non pre laid].He quickly put 2 forks and knives on paper mats, without any friendly banter. We ordered at the bar,as often the case in a bar area, and we were directed to order from the surly server.....not a good start. We made our choices,a moules mariniere with fries and a potje de veau with fries [ plat du jour]. We also chose a 500 ml picher of house red.The red immediately was banged onto the table, ice cold,on a chilly day!,with 2 glasses. We immediately requested the wine at room temperature and he refused. However the bar manager over ruled him,and said it was available at room temperature and asked him to change it......a result. Not even sipping our wine our meals arrived, banged onto the table.Mine was moules, the lid not being removed for me and without the fries,or bread. We waited he eventually returned with fries and bread after serving somebody else..The moules / mussels were enormously disappointing, they were small and swimming in the equivalent of celery soup!,to eat with a knife and fork....The sauce never having seen any garlic or shallots, not to mention wine, they were bland and watery.Basically awful. We asked the manager about the sauce, once again he redirected us to this server, who came over poked his finger in the sauce and said the celery was 'herbs'......!!......some sort of joke.My other half's meal was also inedible, and unattractive having been thrown on the plate,it would appear.I only wished I had my camera with me.We drank some of the wine, ate the fries, paid and left much to their sneering in the background, as the woman at the bar even short changed my other half,he then asked for the rest of his change, and pointed out her 'error'....at E 31.40 later.......Never again will we visit here.We are in the area every 3 months, but will not come through their doors ever again,it would have been better to use the portable fries hut just outside.!!Just rubbish and so disappointing.

Perfect for a sundowner - lovely sitting on the terrace overlooking the sea. Good location on the promenade.

Went to this restaurant after crossing through chunnel mainly because of previous good reports. We were not disappointed with the quality and quantity. About 80 mussells for starters and 130 for mains ( I had starter and wife had for main!!). Friendly and amusing owners. From an English point of view this was a proper French restaurant. Would go again.

Wife & I were staying overnight at the Chateau de la Marine on 18th Aug, couldn't find it so we stopped at the local bar/ brasserie Le Denacre and asked for directions - the barman helped us hot, sweaty, weary travellers & let us use the loo without having a meal or a drink (too tired!). So next day we went there for lunch & to give him a proper thank you . . turned out the chef was also the owner & we had the best best mussels I've EVER had (and I've had a few!) - small mussels, which make a huge difference, and the broth full of very chunky veg, onions & herbs - seriously, don't miss it if you're in the area! I didn't get their names but they're great guys & a great little bar. Merci beaucoup mes amis! You won't remember me but you'll remember the car!Fred Jones Cambridge UK (Mean Green '58 Chevy Impala)HelloThank you for taking the time to leave us a comment, in which case the host, it is with pleasure, we are in a small village, and it is quite normal to troubleshoot hikers in distress :), thanks for the recipe of mussels, and FYI, your car is placed in the log of our region, don't hesitate not a email me so that I send you the article! anyway thanks, because the right time was shared! your smile and kindness are also nice for us!hope to see you soon! friendly Manager
Looks like just a cafe, but the inside is a cool mix of things. Good food, friendly service and an unexpected interior.
