For over 30 years, Union Street Public House has been a casual-dining, classic American restaurant. With Colonial brick front, beautiful adornments, 3 bars, and 3 separate dining rooms, there is ample space and variety for parties of all sizes and tastes!
We went for lunch. It was convenient, in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, a block from the Torpedo Factory. My wife enjoyed her shrimp and beet salad. My crab bisque was okay but overpriced at $9, even seemed high for Old Town. I also had a house salad and that was fine. Service was good. The place itself had colonial charm. We're glad you enjoyed it! Come back and see us.

Met friends for my birthday dinner. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. We spent a fair amount of time perusing the beer options. Loved that they had taste sizes to purchase for a variety. We ordered burgers and chicken. Food was okay at best. Definitely not the reason we would return. We will be back to continue our journey through the beer choices and will try the pizza. Hope springs eternal.

Our party of 3 ate here late on a Friday night. Right from the start, the service was awesome. The waiter was so friendly, helpful, and attentive. We ordered drinks and two appetizers, the risotto fritters and fried green tomatoes. Both were amazing, especially the risotto fritters. They were so delicious, like nothing I had ever tasted before! A definite must. For dinner, 2 people ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and 1 person ordered the full rack of ribs. Our sides were mashed potatoes with the ribs, fries with one sandwich and loaded tots with the other. The ribs were delicious, so tender that the meat was just falling off the bone and a huge amount! The chicken sandwiches were wonderful and so large that we took half home! The loaded tots were great, very different and a great option to fries, another must try! We were so full that there was no room for dessert but took home a piece of coconut cream pie, which was wonderfully delicious!! This restaurant is a little gem with excellent food and service. I would highly recommend and canât wait to return!

Great place for an evening business meeting. Met a colleague here and was able to chat despite being crowded. The dry rub wings were quite good, American burger was excellent.

While in Washington DC, I really wanted to make a trip to Old Town Alexandria and stroll along King Street because I had read so many reviews about the fun area. We opted for Daniel O'connell's Irish Restaurant. I had the fish and chips because the reviews and waitress said they were a favorite. My husband had a steak and cheese sandwich. The fish was just OK. They were cod, which is pretty flavorless and greasy. I should have asked what kind of fish they used because I am a fan of halibut, but not cod. They were good, tons of greasy breading, which I took off to save calories. The fries are steak fries, which are also my least favorite fries. Husband said his sandwich was Ok, nothing to rave over. We sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon. Lisa, our waitress was awesome and very friendly and accomodating.

Hoping this gets managements attention. I live here, been here for Sunday brunch many times, but what a time for them to screw it all up!I had family in town and bragged about the brunch. It took 30 mins to get our waiter to come over, it took another 45 mins to get food and it came out cold. We were informed it was a new computer system messing everything up. The most disappointing part? The owner/manager, or whoever he is, was just milling around doing nothing.I will not return. Plenty of other places that still do it right and show some care about their patrons.
