We recently stayed at Buckler's near Crocodile Bridge and had a good dinner at the Tamberina restaurant in Komatipoort. Seating area is nicely decorated with a Mozambique-Portuguese feel. Menu is a mix of traditional Portuguese with a South African touch. Service was friendly and helpful, a bit slow at times due to the restaurant being rather full at the time of our meal. During our meal we had the King Klip with lemon butter sauce that was fine. Fillet was fresh and grilled nicely. More enjoyed were the signature prawns. Unfortunately, they were out of both King and Queen sized prawns so we tried their 12 standard prawns R240. These were pretty good, nicely boiled with slightly spicy flavour. Served with rice and a bit of salad, this was a nice seafood order. Overall, not the best seafood meal we've ever had but pretty good for a small town in east South Africa. We'd consider eating here again if we find ourselves in Komatipoort.

We stopped here as they advertised Portuguese cooking. Well, Iâve been fortunate to visit Portugal a number of times and never experienced food like Canimambo served. My chicken was OK but the dish my wife had (steak based) was poor. Might be better another night but wonât be testing it out.You Possibility didnât understand that a Trinchado is unique to Southern African Portuguese and may not be to your taste. The menu and signage clearly state Portuguese Mocambican and not Portuguese European cuisine. We apologise for not meeting your expectations.

The best restaurant in Mpumalanga with a Portuguese cuisine. Visit us for a fantastic diner or lunch. Our meat fish and chicken dishes are all prepared on a open firewood. Come and indulge, we happy to welcome you...
Never a disappointment! Mandatory visit whenever in Nelspruit and generally never look further than the chicken gizards and livers while contemplating chicken or beef trinchado main - have got to give prawns a go sometime !
