If you want to see something really special, go there. If you find 3 of such Restaurants still in Portugal than u are lucky. Historical place. Very crowded by local VIP´s (Football etc.). Else during the week fully booked. Come early or book, else you have to wait up to 3 hours for a free table. Very known good quality food. Pure, easy but typical Portuguese. The walls of the restaurants are full of old pictures, historical pictures and some of them are unique. Need a car to get there or a taxi. Very hidden, no description on the roads.

This place breathes the soul of Montijo. It's days of tavern became the decoration of the restaurant just like the endless memorabilia of bullfighting. In the walls you may see the old glorias of bullfighting that once filled the arenas of Montijo and Alcochete. A place for "aficionados" for sure. This is the kind of restaurant to have a great meal with your friends and chat all night long while you drink and eat.Pork meat is the "star" of the menu. I've tasted the "Bitoque" (pork meat with fried egg and french fries) both of "white" and "black" pig, in previous dinners I had here, and they were really tasty. For this time, we choose our favourite: a mix of almost everything. We had blood sausage, "farinheira" sausage, french fries, "linguiça" sausage, loose cracklings... And sangria, of course. So so tasty. This time was a birthday party so we had no dessert, we had the birthday cake, we had just coffee, but It was about 12 or 14⬠per person.

All the burgers requested had amazing presentation! I reccomend the Ti Maria burguer where you can taste the meat, spinach and egg and in other hand the âalheiraâ (typical Portuguese kind of sausage) with apple sweet! Delicious mixture of flavors! The employees are very nice and make you feel welcome!

A real "taberna" (the portuguese concept of tavern): very good food, unpretentious atmosphere, friendly service and reasonable prices. As a starter you must order "torrresmos STEC" the best pork rind/crackling supplied by a awarded producer close to the the restaurant. For the mains everything is good if it comes from the charcoal grill, either sardines (cacth in the ocean some hour before) or a juicy steak (cows fed in the meadows of Alentejo), or boneless pork chops (a must of flavour). And, during summer, ask a table in the courtyard ...

It's a great place to bring your friends and spend a nice evening with great food, delicious wines and a comfortable soundtrack.Very cosy and super traditional decoration, the staff makes you feel like home treating you as family."Espetada Madeirense" is a must to try, is going to make you cry for mooooore! The price is alright but to be honest I have been in similar quality places nearby with better prices, reason why isn't a 5* this place. Still is one of the best.Don't forget to call and book in advance, is fully booked most of the times!Enjoy it

The food was amazing. They had such a great variety of different fish displayed and you got to choose everything. But the best thing about this restaurant is by far the friendly staff. We got to try everything out before ordering and the recommendations we got from the waiter were simply spot on. This restaurant is a must if you ever find yourself in Montijo.

Great cosy and familiar ambiance. Excellent service (fast and everyone very nice) and the best? The food. Best meat and fish around, generous and perfectly cooked. Also very generous served which makes it a very good deal on top of everything.

Our meal at Cafe Havanessa was outstanding in every respect. The food prepared by Florbella was out of this world and was beautifully presented and accompanied by the best Vinho Verde we have ever had. The service was friendly, welcoming and fantastic, and the decor quirky and tasteful. This place is a real find and is a credit to Florbella, who used to be an architect and has now turned her creative passion to the kitchen.

We came here with family who love this place and kept boasting about it but after having the food I don't see what the big deal is.We ordered bife de casa which was meant to be like a bitoque (steak eggs chips salad and rice) and whilst the accompaniments were ok the steak was not. No garlic no salt no flavour it was just a steak that had been fried or grilled in olive oil and that's it.I tried a different dish where u cook the meat yourself and again same problem. The lamb chops were by far the best and IF I had to return (praying I dont) then that's what I shall be ordering. The place is loud and crowded and the food is best for people who like bland mush.Would I recommend? No way!Would I return? Only if dragged kicking and screaming
