The meat hanging vertically on a stick, that was what I wanted and it did not disappoint! There was plenty for 3 people and it seemed like a Brazilian style meal. We ordered it medium well, it was soft and juicy, not with blood running out. There were no pieces of bone or fat, just delicious meat! The rice was cooked just right and well flavoured too. There was quite a wide range of desserts. I had the biscuit cake (bolacha). It was like layers of Maria biscuits with cream. As if you had dipped Rich Tea biscuits in milk but made into a dessert. The service was rapid even though the restaurant was fairly full.
Wonderful service, amazing dishes made from local produce and beautifully presented. If in Monçao and you fancy a drink and food you will not be dissapointed...

Great local (meat) food in a place you would not expect. Son of owner is fluent in English (thanks to computer gaming). Very friendly service and good price quality.

We went today for lunch, the restaurant was full with a couple of people in the waiting list. When we tried to get into the waiting list, the answer was "no, we have too many clients already, and the list is too long" and dismissed us... Obrigada pela sua atenção e decepção !Volte ,mas reserve que será bem atendido é sempre um enorme prazer acolher os nossos queridos irmãos brasileiros.Boas férias

We stopped at Cabral for a late lunch and had a magnificent meal. The stone walls make a nice atmosphere. The pile of goat chops (could have been lamb -- my portuguese is rudimentary) were tender and delicious, and theplate of lulus (small octopus) was the best. Each dish was overly large, but so good that we cleaned our plates. The waiter was friendly and properly attentive. If were in Moncao again, we'll be back.

My husband and i walked all over this little town and finally settled for the basement restaurant here, on the edge of the central Square of Monçao. The ladies running the place were very accomodating and patient with our very limited Spanish, and catered adequately for my vegetarian request. My husband's desire for a lamb dish was very well met!
We had the chicken burger. It was excellent. The staff is great, very attentive to details, very professional.

A really good restaurant with a friendly, jazz-loving waiter and a talented chef who really knows what he is doing. Good to know - the chef has a relative who is coeliac so has a sound knowledge of gluten-free food. Delicious steak cooked exactly to our taste and the following night a sort of timbale of cod with lots of flavours. One of the tastiest main course salads I have ever had - you have the basics and then choose an extra five ingredients. I had it the next night as well because I expect it will be quite a while before I find anything so good. I tried the chocolate fondant one night and the caramel one the next - can't say which was more delicious. Poor coeliac had to make do with ice cream but never mind, he is well used to it. Great food while we were staying at the nearby Solar de Serrade, we will definitely eat here if in the region again.
