It was once just a dive bar called Rudys in the 80's. Now a bar restaurant across from the cemetery. Still a dive but the food is fabulous now that it is a Portuguese restaurant. All I have had is the salmon, my friends had the chicken and the cod. They both enjoyed it also. And the salmon is $16.00

The best local Portuguese restaurant and bar outside of Newark. Always tasty favorites and specials. My favorite red sangria. Love the special grilled swordfish with tomato and mozzarella. Sandra knows her regulars and goes out of her way to ensure great service and Paul the owner will always make sure your meal is to your liking.

Had a long leisurely lunch with an old colleague. I had one of the lunch specials, the Paella Valencia. Very good. Lots of seafood, Spanish sausage and a half of a lobster tail. Huge portions. Plan on leaving with a doggie bag. The bread was delicious. Excellent service. On site parking lot. Accessibility ramp. The only negative thing that I can say, if it is a negative--they wouldn't let me package my own leftovers. Said that it was't allowed. This is the first time that I have encountered this. I prefer to put my leftovers in the container myself. They were nice about it though. They didn't rush us and let us stay as long as we wanted. I definitely would go again. It's worth a visit.

The Portuguese cuisine was expensive and average considering what one can find in Newark Iron Bond. To make the experience even worse after lunch with my spouse, is that I was charged a mandatory 15% tip without my authorization. I confronted the waiter who had nothing to say. I sent an instant message to their Facebook page. No response whatsoever.

We stayed in Elisabeth overnight to catch a flight from NLIA. We found this great neighborhood restaurant, the service was pleasant, not over bearing, giving us plenty of time to choose and answer questions. Be aware the portions are very large each dish could have served 2-3 people. The food was very delicious as well as the dessert.

First off, nice ambiance and a great wine list! It is loaded with a fabulous selection of Spanish wines. Pleasantly surprised. Lots of options on the menu. We started off with some clams to share that were really flavorful and perfectly done. For our entrees we ordered a paella and suckling pig. Both huge portions but both also dry...very dry. Was expecting better. Expensive.I'm glad you appreciated our extensive wine list. It's wonderful you enjoyed the clams as well. As for the entrees, I'm sorry you weren't as impressed there. I look forward to the next opportunity we get to earn another star or two from you.Sincerely,Andres, Manager

Cooking on a stone. Order steak, tuna, or shrimp, and they bring you a stone, which must be heated to 400 or 500 degrees (maybe more) and you cut your tuna (which we ordered) to your size specification, grease up the stone with oil or butter and cook the meat to your specifications. I have never encounter this before. Cooking smoke fills the room. But the stone cooking is just one item out of hundreds on the menu. A note to the wise, order less than half of what you think you might eat. The neighborhood where this resteraunt is located reminded me of the polyglot populations, populated by various legal immigrant Europeans after World War II.
