Reviews on Portuguese food in Azores, Portugal. The nine islands that make up the Azores are in fact the peaks of some of the world's tallest mountains, reaching from deep beneath the Atlantic. The once-uninhabited, volcanic archipelago now hosts thousands of tourists every year who flock to the islands for sun, sand and verdant mountain scenery. From the beaches of Praia da Vitoria to the bustling marina of Horta, to the bubbling volcanic ground "ovens" of Furnas, these islands offer unparalleled--and unusual--adventures to discover.

Space that is distinguished by an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Has the intention to encourage the consumption of traditional Portuguese products, establishing a link between personal taste for public service and the appreciation and admiration for th
This is a special place, not your usual mundane restaurant. The theme is cheese, cured meats, canned fish and wine. Bruno is passionate about them all and it shows. As it was our first night in Ponta Delgada, we booked well in advance and were glad we did. Tables are very limited and all walk-ins were turned away. A must if you enjoy Portuguese foods and drink.

Restaurante O Cordeirinho: you would easily drive past it without really noticing it and when you enter inside(you can only eat inside, terrace is only for drinks and fastfood) youâd almost think that you arrived at some kind of ski hut; but when you taste the food youâll be truly happy that you decided to eat here. Amazing, we were blown away by the flavours. We had both the gambas as well as the squid and were seriously impressed with its taste. If it were possible to share flavours on instagram, and you got a taste, you would already be on your way day by now! Seriously, this one should definitely be on your âmust-visitâ list when visiting Sao Miguel!

Sandwich and juice stand. Located in Ponta Delgada's farmers market (Mercado da Graca), sabores - local food, is the place where you can have a taste of local gastronomy based on the freshest azorean products from regional farmers and producers. If you're
You can not look for tables in the market. Your lunch will be served on fruit crates. And it has nothing to do with the quality of lunch. Mini-sandwiches are made perfectly. From products that are sold here. Like fresh juice. It's delicious. And cheap. Including the fact that on the boxes. However, what can be prejudices when it comes to tasty and healthy food?

We have our restaurant opened every day except for Mondays and Sundays. We start serving dinners at 7.30 PM and you are welcomed until 9 PM. Please call us to check availability or send us an email!
We had a fantastic and delicious dinner. They were very accommodating to our dietary requests, and also accommodating to anything we needed to keep our two-year-old from causing too much trouble. The food was phenomenal, interesting, thoughtful, well-plated. The restaurant itself is cute, and it really feels like you are eating a home-cooked meal from the hosts. A lovely and wonderful experience, and our best meal in the entire Azores.

New portuguese cuisine in a casual elegant modern setting. A great atmosphere with a creative starters and regular traditional main dishes. Vegetarian dishes. Friendly staff!
The young owners of this lovely restaurant have done an incredible job creating a unique welcoming restaurant with lots of quirky decor. It is a lovely place to spend an evening with friends or family. It is very popular so make sure in summer you book well in advance!

Opened in the summer of 2019, Chandelier Restaurant Bar invites you into a space where elegance and good service combine. Light meals at lunch and dinner with a Fine Dining concept, where only fresh and Azorean seasonal products are served, you can enjoy
You've spent couple days (weeks) on San Miguel and are overhelmed by it's natural unspoiled beauty and very fresh and and amazingly natural food. Natural, tasty and quite simple food. Looking for something more exsquisite? More like fine dining? More New York like stylish simple and elegant design? So, it's time to visite Chandelier! Not a big, but elegant menue (yes, with still perfectly azorean natural and omg yummy ingridients), pretty decent wine list (try whites from Pico island), very friendly and relaxingly professional service. My recommendation would be at least 2 dishes choice if you are not very hungry and 3 + dessert if you are. Portions are small as well as prices per dish are not high. A very, very refreshing fine dining experience after several days of tasty but simple food. The place still works in a test regime, format is closer to a gastro bar. Their entrecote is my tiny little sinful pleasure. Hermano made our visits warm, welcomed and interesting. Thank you, guys!

If you're expecting a "fast food-like" restaurant with plenty of choices, this is definitely not your place.Roberto's approach is different: he wants to offer a limited selection of extremely fresh products (spanning from fish to meat), prepared according to Azores' culinary tradition. We have been lured by his friendly approach to customers: he invited us for a brief tour in the kitchen, to show us its daily raw ingredients and guide our choice.Needless to say, everything was just delicious. So delicious that we decided to spend both evenings we spent on Terceira.Absolutely recommended!

Discover a delicious variety of the best regional Azorean cuisine, focused on local seafood and fish and the tenderness of Azorean meat. Made with quality and respect for the fresh ingredients and tradition of the Azores.
Our hotel recommendations here bang on! This restaurant exceeded our expectations. We had the best octopus dishes ever. The fish was tender and well prepared. The seafood soup was excellent and the shrimp was so flavourful. Our server was very attentive and the view of the ocean from the balcony was beautiful. We went again the next day and had the same wonderful experience. What a pleasure to read your review @Adkfamily! It represents our everyday work to offer a great experience to our customers. We hope we can have your visit again. Best regards

We had several times dinner in this fancy restaurant. The menu card is an iPad,You can choose yourself the language. Every evening there are different choices for fish and shellfish, meat (pork, lamb, beef, goat and even rabbit) and even a good choice in vegetarian dishes. You make your choices and this is directly send to the kitchen. Service was amicable and quick but with poor English knowledge. All the dishes we tried were at least as good as expected, the rabbit is a real recommendation.
