My friend and I dined here today. The specials of the day were less than $10 and most were $8. We ordered a potato pancake appetizer and received pancakes bigger than our plates. The mushroom soup was in a large cup and was tasty. Our lunch entrees were huge. For $23 (we had water), we had a huge lunch and leftovers to enjoy again. We peeked at the banquet hall, and it is very old world and charming. The only negative I have was the European techno music was a bit weird, too loud, and annoying.

We recently checked out this fast food Polish place. They offered all typical fast food plus some Polish favs. I had potato & cheese pierogis which were very good. They offered imported bottled drinks and homemade ice cream (I must go back for). This place is well known within the Polish community in this area. Worth checking out if you are looking for something different. Indoor and outdoor seating too.

We were in Justice, Il., attending a wake and found Szarotka Restaurant which sounded interesting. We decided on having dinner here. Our server, Derrick, seated us and gave us menus and provided us with specials. We ordered a cup of Highlander sour soup with a smoked rib. We also ordered a cup of goulash soup. The cup of the Highlander soup was actually a bowl because of the rib that was in it. The meat on the rib bone was very tender and tasty. Both soups were hot. Derrick also brought bread & rye bread to the table, though the butter was quite hard for spreading. For our dinners, our first entree was the dozen pierogi - half meat & the other half potato & cheese. Our second entree was the Polish plate #1 which included two large pieces of Polish sausage, two cabbage rolls, a half dozen potato & cheese pierogi and dumplings on a bed of sauerkraut. To see the portion was ample would be an understatement. We were unable to finish everything, so we'll be eating Polish food the remainder of the week. Derrick was friendly and efficient. Szarotka Restaurant has a bar with seating, as well as at least two banquet rooms. There is a lift at the front door for those who need assistance up the stairs. The parking lot is big with good access to & from Roberts Rd. The restaurant is two blocks south of 79th St. The Polish food was some of the best that we have tried. The cabbage rolls were nearly as good as Mom's and Grandma's.
