Find out what Pizza restaurants to try in Ventura. Ventura, officially the City of San Buenaventura, is the county seat of Ventura County, California, United States. European explorers encountered a Chumash village, referred to as Shisholop, in Ventura while traveling along the Pacific coast. The eponymous Mission San Buenaventura was founded nearby in 1782 where it benefitted from the water of the Ventura River. The town grew around the mission compound and incorporated in 1866. The development of nearby oil fields in the 1920s and the age of automobile travel created a major real estate boom during which many designated landmark buildings were constructed. The mission and these buildings are at the center of a downtown that has become a cultural, retail, and residential district and visitor destination.

Venturaâs favorite Pizza place. Featuring award winning Pizza and Salad Bar as well as appetizers and Oven Baked Sandwiches. Great place to watch a game and have a local beer.
I have a complaint ! It's not with the food Toppers to me has great Pizza and the ingredients seem to be very fresh. It's that they only have ONE stall in the women's restroom !! With all the kids and families there people drinking beer you better pray you don't have to take a leak cuz you will never make it on time. I had my grandchildren with me and that was a mistake taking them there. So my advice if you want to enjoy your Toppers Pizza order in.

Let me state the positives first. This place is probably the most internet savvy and publicized of the local pizzerias, so they make it easy to order, easy to find discounts, and the customer service cannot be beat. They kick everyone's butts on Customer Service. However, I know pizza...and really good pizza. I'm a native East Coaster who grew up on New York pizza and I'm pretty particular about what good pizza is and isn't. First, few in California use oregano properly when it comes to pizza. They either use too much or don't use it at all. Next, sauces are either too heavy or too light. So it's either like you're biting into tomato paste (and some places that seems like all it is) or you're getting a ragu-like version of pizza sauce. At this pizzeria, they tend toward the "pastier" sauce from my experiences. But what this particular business does that others don't, which irks me, is they burn the pizza crust. Each time I've ordered from them, the crust is burned and what isn't burned is rubbery. That's not for me. Some might like that but, it's not the kind of pizza that makes me want to be a regular with them.

My family and I stopped for a night in Ventura on our final evening of our road trip. We all really wanted pizza. We saw Tony's earlier as we drove into town and I looked up the reviews and it sounded like a solid place. I chose to do an online order since the wait time was about 45 minutes. We got there a few minutes early and it was ready for pick-up. Getting back to the room we started to dive in and the pizza was clearly overcooked and a bit overly crisp. Felt like we were eating pizza flavored chips. The staff seemed to be a bunch of younger high school/college aged men, so I'd say we just came at a time that there were different "chefs" preparing the food versus those that had excellent things to say about their food. For the price i was expecting a little more in terms of quality, but clearly we were paying for the ambiance. It is a cute little stand close to the beach for a quick slice, but as a whole dinner it just didn't fly with the fam.

We create everything fresh at Meridians & we've got something for everyone: Hand-tossed Pizza, Super Subs, Sexy Salads & loads of made-to-order hot Pasta.
Very small eatery located in Von's shopping center. Our order was a meat lovers pizza and a Cesar salad. Both were very good and service was prompt. The staff was friendly staff. Pizza was generous in both size and toppings. Pasta entrees looked good and I'll try one next time.

The service was just OK. The owner schmoozed friends/regulars - and that was were the authentic Italian atmosphere ended. The bread oily. The extra large portions of very mediocre food, a waste. Although I noticed most people left with doggie bags, I hope theyâre not feeding it to their pets. Honestly, you get better tasting food from the freezer, box or a can. Iâm not a cook, but neither is Capriccioâs chef.
