Visited last week for my Birthday, 5 people in the party and between us we had 2 lasagnes, pizza, calzone and steak. Roasted veg, chips and cheesy garlic bread as sides. Every single dish was delicious!! Can not recommend highly enough and the service was fantastic! Our waiter Shane could not do enough for us and went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, give it a try, you will not be disappointed

Ordered 2 x chips cheese and chicken strips. The tub was half full of chips. The chicken strips were no bigger than a chicken nugget. Absolutely disgusting to charge £5 for such a small meal. Going downhill. Wonât order again

Some friends recommended La Anchor, and we weren't disappointed! The owners was so helpful and friendly, there was a good selection of pizza and fresh pasta and specials. Be warned, the portions are huge, but you can take any you can't manage home :-) The staff were so attentive but not at all intrusive. A great place which is fully booked every night, with good reason. Can't wait to go back! So pleased to hear your friends recommend La Anchor and clearly you all had a great time and enjoyed our food and many thanks for taking the time to share a lovely review, see you again soon...All the Beat - The La Anchor Team.

Tried for the first time after getting the menu through the door. The chicken in the kebab was cooked nicely but the salad was salty and the chilli sauce was horrid. The donner kebab was inedible and smelt and looked awful, couldn't even put it on my plate; it went straight in the bin. Wouldn't use again, waste of money.

Have been using this place for a while now but usually pick the food up myself. Recently however we've been using the online option.......it's great! Option to pay online via PayPal or card even pay on delivery and gives you a time line of how your order is progressing. The food is of great standard love their pizzas , kebab portions are massive, and the burgers are tasty and large. Highly recommended.

We are regular visitors to Doncaster Racecourse but this is the first time we have stayed outside of the main town. Edwins has been recently renovated and the design of the whole building has been well thought out. Rooms are very comfortable and well fitted out. The restaurant itself has the right blend of dishes which are all well presented and of very good quality. We can particularly recommend the breakfast.A taxi to the racecourse is approx £10 and the village itself has plenty of pubs and more eating establishments for variation.We will definitely be returning.All staff as well are very helpful, and seem to pride themselves on the quality of the service they give.Hi Bruce,Thank you for that fantastic review! We ordered takeaway from these and was told it would be 45 mins, 1hr later our food arrived, we all had chips on our meal and these were cold and a bit soggy, one of the burgers looked really sloppy, no one enjoyed their food and usually we have when ordered previous times, the only thing that taste nice was the free garlic bread, think it will be a while before you order from her again, thatâs if we do.

although it is a takeaway the food we had was excellent that you can't even find in most of the restaurant. we had pizzas from here before and like their pizzas. this time we were very hungry and ordered posh amazing kebab (lamb+chicken+doner+ fried onion,mushrooms,peppers in a large container and chips,pittas,salad)...meat was very tasty and rightly cooked..fried veggies were delicious..I don't know if it was marinade or cooking style ,we felt that it was not ordinary takeaway food..it was like from a good restaurant...it included free garlic bread as well..I was told that it was meal for two but definitely food was large enough for 3-4 people...it was hot enough when delivered..will definetly order again and again if they keep their quality this high.....
