Chicken wings tasted freezer burnt and were extremely small. The pizza was over cooked. The price was CRAZY high for a couple pies and wings. The peparoni is so small made me think they cut up Slim Jims.

During a business trip, I stopped by for a couple slices and was disappointed. The product lacked flavor (I should have accepted their offer of crushed red pepper and grated parmasan cheese to add flavor). Also, although the crust was thin (Brooklyn style) which is my preference, it lacked character - too doughy.
We eat here at least once a week. The pizza, subs, and even their tea is fantastic. We have had delivery, eat in and take out and it's all fast and hot. The only thing we find annoying is calling in...the lady who answers the phone talks so fast that it's hard to understand who we are calling but we usually figure it out.

Salvatore's used to be my go-to restaurant in Suffolk. Then the two Italian chefs who really made the dining experience a pleasure left town. The drama in the kitchen started leaking out into the front of the house last year, so I stayed away for a while. When I returned, I noted thathe menu has not changed and the furniture is the same, but the ambience has taken a dive. There were no nightly specials to complement the menu. A member of the staff used to greet you at the door and take you to your table. Even though this is only a little Italian restaurant/pizzeria in a strip mall between a Big Lots and a Dollar Tree, it used to be a dining oasis, something special and unexpected, like a diamond in the rough or a pearl among stones. You could tell that they were striving to be something better, a cut above the expected. Now, on a weekend night when the tables were only about 30% occupied, as we walked in, a fellow behind the register half the length of the restaurant away hollered, "Dining in? Sit anywhere." So we did. And waited. And waited. Just as I was ready to walk out, we received some menus. We ordered our favorite app, the "hot" mussels marinara. These used to be a thing of beauty, especially when Chef Pasquale was preparing them. The sauce was amazingly savory, perfectly seasoned to complement the mussels. The mussels were abundant. Now, the serving is about a quarter to a third fewer mussels and the sauce is the standard tomato sauce that they serve with pasta, the garlic knots, etc. Some of them had cooled almost to room temperature, like they had been sitting waiting to be served for five or ten minutes. I give Salvatore's credit for continuing the tradition of complementary garlic knots. Those have remained of high quality, maybe even a bit better, with a more generous drizzling of olive oil and minced garlic. When Chefs Gaetano and Pasquale were in the kitchen, the plating of the house salads was elegant. Now, they are nothing special: just what you would expect in a strip-mall restaurant in Suffolk. Our server was courteous and polite every time he came to the table but he seemed distracted and rarely came by to check on us. In my opinion a restaurant manager should not allow a server to work in a t-shirt and cutoffs. Our server never asked us if we wanted refills on drinks or queried about the quality of the food. He only seemed to leave the back half of the restaurant when he had to deliver something. I don't know what was keeping him so busy but it was not customer service. I read in the local paper that the owner's restaurant in Virginia Beach is quite good. It sounded like this one used to be. The owner needs to pay attention to what he has going in Suffolk or he is going to have to close it down. It looks like the dining-in business has already fallen off by more than half since last year. So, until I hear that Salvatore's in Suffolk has undergone a drastic overhaul, I won't be back.

This place reminds me of the "Mom & Pop" takeout places scattered all over New York City. Great food, friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. Small seating area....most of the business is carry out.

Iâve been to this establishment a number of time and have never had a bad experience. The pizza is always made fresh to order. Their chicken philly is awesome! This is a genuine family owned restaurant with awesome staff!

The restaurant was chosen based on TripAdvisor, and I was delighted with the experience. The server was friendly and stopped by often to make sure I was properly served. The food (veal piccata) had a lovely blend of butter, garlic and capers. Although the veal was a little tougher than expected, it had a good flavor. The choices of entrees was large making my choice a difficult one to make!

Visited one of the local restaurants that we loved going to, although it had been a while. The food was not good. My husband had fettuccine alfredo. His facial expression said it all. He's a hearty eater and he didn't finish a 1/3 of his meal. I ordered a special, fried shrimp. The shrimp were HUGE, but the breaded was the worse. I couldn't eat them. The meal came with french fries and macaroni n' cheese....two starches. I don't think I will be going back.
