Things to do in St. Pierre
Fresh pizza dough and delicipus toppings make for a relatively cheap but delicious meal. We took our pizza out to the square as this is a take-away restaurant and enjoyed the food as well as the view.
Ogni volta che veniamo allo snow park, ci fermiamo a mangiare qui.à un self service, la presentazione non è delle migliori, ma si mangia bene e abbondante:Polenta, salsiccia, jambon de Sant Oyen, trippa, ....

This wonderful restaurant is located just below the Castle of Sarriod de la Tour on the main road. Excellent cuisine and prices very reachable. The owners were very friendly and even served us on our late arrival on a Sunday night. Perfect
This restaurant is mainly a pizzeria. There are other items which we did not try(except a mixed salad). We were told it was the best pizza in this small town. It proved to be excellent.(Forno a Legno) Our waitress was a little brusque but warmed up as we progressed. They do a good take-out business, which is good if you want to avoid the coperto charge. The carafe of water was tepid(she may have thought we should buy the water). We ordered a house red wine which was a dolcetto, and not very good. I recommend that you drink beer if you go there(most everyone there did). The beer is better beer than the wine is wine. If you really want the wine, choose it carefully. We were asked if we wanted it "frizzante" or "normale-" the latter seemed better to me, but I don't know that for certain . A matter of taste.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, explaining certain dishes and happy to help towards intollerances. Selection of salame and cheese with a foccacia, absolutely lovely. Homemade gnocchi were fantastic, the duck was overcooked which was a shame but it's not an easy meat. Meringue seemed shop bought and honestly awful, quite disapointing Typical small village restaurant with simple food, average priced.

Not sure if I should be sharing this because I don't want la Pineta to get crowded. Absolutely incredible lunch. All patrons ate same food at same time, can't remember the number of courses but included anti-pasta, pasta, first and second courses and a wonderful dessert menu. Home cooked, no fancy trimmings but tasty, hot, filling food - no other Brits for miles around - and all for 20 euros! Meal started at 12h30 and we left about 14h30. Well worth the trip out to Ozein, Amayvilles - about 20 minutes outside Aosta towards Cogne. As they say in Italy, gnam, gnam!Good for kids and grandmas too.

We stopped off overnight at a little "hotel" in Aymavilles (just the Italian side of the Mont Blanc tunnel) during a motoring trip from the UK. This restaurant just happened to be 100m away from where we were staying so it was the obvious choice as we were pretty tired and not too keen on a long search for anything else. Well it turned out to be delightful! It wasn't at all busy - as you'd expect in November, so we had the full attention of the waiter. The service was excellent as was our pizza. I asked for a glass of "local red wine" - which, as it turned out, was produced pretty much next door! Exactly what I'd hoped for. The sweet was equally as good. The place was very clean and smart by the way and the waiter spent lots of time with us using his limited English plus his smartphone to help us understand the menu. All in all we were very pleased so the place gets top marks from us. Oh, and it was very reasonably priced as well!

L'Oasis in Villeneuve is a great restaurant where to have a good dinner while watching the sunset. Make sure to book a table on the jetty and sit side by side facing West to have a great view of the lake, the Swiss and French Alps, the Château de Chillon and the Riviera vaudoise. They have great perch filets and the service is fast. Don't be surprised when you get the bill: everything is expensive in Switzerland. Bon appétit!
