We arrived in Truckee very late after 13 hours of driving and asked the hotel for a list of local places to get dinner. We decided on pizza and called Round Table. They said it would be 90 minutes before they could deliver so we opted to drive there and pick it up. We ordered small size pizzas and were quoted a price of $45 - i realize we were in California, but even for California that was pretty steep. When we got to the restaurant it was nearly empty and several of the tables were dirty and piled up with dirty dishes. The clerk was rather benign - neither pleasant nor unpleasant. We took the pizza back to the hotel and all agreed that it probably the worst pizza we had ever purchased. The crust was terrible and the sauce and toppings did little to improve on it. None of the three of us even bothered to finish our pizza and we all three threw away the leftovers, which we never do.

Iâve.m been here twice and had a good meal and great service both times. Menu is well thought out, staff is friendly, and food great. Nice atmosphere too

We have lived in Truckee for over 22 years now and had heard about Jiffy's but just never tried it until the other night. One of our friends thinks this is the best pizza in town (so you think we would have tried it before now). It was really good. We went for the thicker crust, sausage and pineapple, the sauce had great flavor, service was good for take out (a small place with a few seats to eat there). We'll definitely be back...tomorrow night as a matter of fact.

I stopped in fairly close to closing so that could have been the issue, but the place was empty and they seemed to want to close down. The pizza was ok, nothing special. Large slices. The bartender was very friendly and he didnt rush me at all. I have a feeling the pizza is better under different circumstances.

We chose this at random from the listings in the Truckee guide book as it was near our motel in Deerfield Road and found we had made a really good choice. It looks little more than wooden shack but was quite adequate inside for a quick meal. The pizzas are made to order and have a wide range of toppings which you can mix'n'match to suit your taste. It was busy with many phone orders which we assumed was a good recommendation if they were all from locals! However, once our pizza was served it was delicious.

Pizza on the hill has changed chefs more times than I can remember. They have odd hours...now only open Thursday through Monday's 5-8:3. They are part of a home owners association, Tahoe Donner. Be sure and call ahead of time to make sure they are open as it all depends on time of year what there hours are. They have a bar (wine and beer), salad bar, serve pizza, soups, pastas, sandwiches and more. We ordered a pizza to go, it was ready for pickup on time and the staff was friendly. The pizza was exactly as ordered: Kitchen Sink (18.95 one size only 14" with 8 slices) with no bell peppers or onions. The crust was good, topping fresh, over all not a bad pizza. We'll try them again if they are open on a night that's convient for us...

We arrived on Friday, ready for a week end ski, dinner at Truckee, We opted for Old Town Tap, share plates dinner with short ribs, meatballs, Brussel sprouts, fried sunchokes, put in order from acceptable to very poor. A glass of Pinot noir no taste, really disappointing.

Great family restaurant in Truckee serving pizza and pastas dishes that were made like grandma use to make it. Lots of indoor seating and outdoor patio for summer dining. Full bar and arcade for the kids in the back room. If you want family atmosphere with full bar this is your spot.

Every time we head to the mountains, my family loves to spend a meal at Village Pizzeria. There is something for everyone and their pizza is to die for! Love their garlic and pesto chips (real thin crust pizza dough with a thin layer of the most delicious sauces), their minestrone was loaded with fresh veggies and their pasta dishes all satisfy. Love their sandwiches - meatballs are terrific!

If you're done with a long day of skiing or Spartan World Championships, give Fireside pizza a try. The thin crust pizza is good. They have fast, efficient service and a good selection of microbrews. You can sit inside or outside. Large groups are welcome.
